How to get HIGH in Montreal – A field guide. What you should know, and what we can’t remember.

*** LEGAL DISCLAIMER*** Since this is new territory I’d like to appease my business partners and lawyers by noting that Connected Montreal does not provide or supply cannabis products. We do not condone the use of black market cannabis products. The use of legal cannabis products are to only be used and consumed in Canada. Consult your physician before using any cannabis products. The following experiences below are purely anecdotal… allegedly. For more information regarding weed laws, click here

Last week, on October 17th, Cannabis AKA Weed, pot, reefer… Etc became LEGAL in all of Canada. Not decriminalized or tolerated…Fully legal. Canada is the first G8 nation to do so.

While Cannabis is now legal, there are a few basic laws about smoking weed in Montreal:

-You must be be over 18 to buy or consume marijuana

-You can’t carry over 30 grams (that’s over an ounce) per person

-You can’t drive high (duh)

-You can’t smoke in smoke free zones (schools/hospitals)

Weed is regulated here in Quebec (Montreal is in Quebec) by the newly formed SQDC. The  SQDC is a government run weed store (Socialism at its finest) and is the only place you can buy LEGAL cannabis. There is only one physical store location downtown, which at the time of writing has a line around the block and a 3 hour wait to get in (this will, of course, die down). You can order online in Canada, However shipping takes 2-4 days.

Cannabis at the SQDC is sold in primarily 2 forms:  dried buds and pre-rolled joints for smoking OR oils, capsules, and sprays for oral consumption. Edibles such as cookies and gummy bears will not be sold as they are seen as a child safety hazard.

Luckily, I was able to get an order in online (the order volume has been so insane that quantity is already low.) In the name of science and R&D, I used the company Amex to deliver some legal cannabis products to our office. I ordered a sampling of 3 products: buds, spray, and oil/capsules.

Montreal Weed Guide

Weed College

In case you don’t listen to rap or are a mormon, here is a crash course in cannabis as it’s important to know the different types of strains and general effects  (or read what big brother says)

The most important thing to look for is THC content. For noobs, this means how much of the psychoactive compound is in the weed that makes you high.

Furthermore, there are 2 strains of cannabis that each give their own specific feeling/high: Sativa and Indica

Sativa: The THC in this strain gives you the “head high” the government says, “Its effects are usually described as potentially energizing, uplifting or mentally stimulating”

Indica : This strain gives you the “body high”. The government describes Indica as, ““Its effects are usually described as potentially calming, relaxing or sleep-inducing.“

Montreal Weed Guide

Hybrid : A mix of the two strains and a mix of the two highs. Most weed sold is a hybrid.

CBD Content : This is in reference to the NON-Psychoactive chemical. CBD is considered a miracle drug by many as its know to be of the the best anti-inflammatory out there. CBD doesn’t get you high, but it has many amazing medical benefits that I highly recommend (Think of it as a replacement for Advil, hangovers, and soreness from working out). Most people are excited that CBD is now legal as many use it to reduce chronic pain. CBD products and strains were the first to sell out online.

Type VS high:  ***Very important***. Smoking will always be the mild and shorter high, its also easier to control your dose. While eating (oils/sprays) is the wild wild west as you don’t really know how hard it will hit, or how long the high will last. The effects might not kick in for 2-3 hours… and the high can last 8+ hours. If you’re a novice, DON’T do the oils.

First Hand Report

I should mention my familiarity with cannabis (My parents learned a long time ago not to read this site and to just tell their friends I’m an “event planner”) I learned the lessons of the “sweet leaf” as a teenager (like most of you). During the mid to late 90’s in the US, weed was still illegal and expensive. Good bud cost more than gold, literally, and could get you arrested in most states. Regardless, there was no better way for a teen to get action from a chubby drama chick then by having weed. I smoked my fair share back in the day and still a bit now in my 30’s, so I’m no stranger to the occasional high. I thought I’d be prepared, boy was I wrong.

Test 1: Solei “Renouer

“ THC Spray $31″

Weed Spray

The SQDC website says:

This blend, in oral spray form, has a strong THC content and contains no CBD. It may give the impression of experiencing stimulating sensations, increase the desire to be around others and even create an urge to laugh. This product does not have a distinctive aroma. CAUTION! The effects may take up to two or three hours to appear. We strongly recommend beginning with a small amount and waiting a few hours before taking more, if desired.

This is the strongest and cheapest spray that is legally sold. It is also a Sativa.  I thought it would be a good idea to start at the top and work my way down… I was wrong.

At around noon, I decided to take 2 sprays on an empty stomach and began my journey. An hour later, I realized I should have taken just one spray.

I was catapulted into the the stratosphere of legal weed. Since any real productive work was thrown out the window, I decided to skip out on the office and indulge the buzz.

When your high, really high, there’s nothing better than stuffing your face. No better place to do so then Schwartz’s. Their smoked meat sandwiches are legendary and loved by all. Upon arrival, the line was down the block. Luckily, due to our Briskets and Breasts partnership, I was able to skip the line and grab a quick sandwich to go. I’d like to think this went as smooth as possible but I think everyone knew I was high, or maybe that was the paranoia kicking in?

The sandwich didn’t quench the beast  so like any glutton/foodie I hopped into an Uber (Please don’t drive high…) to my favorite place in Montreal, Jean Talon Market.

Jean Talon is possibly the best farmers market in North America. It’s the real deal with food you won’t see anywhere this side of the Atlantic. I’m too vain to list ALL the things I ate but highlights include: pulled pork tacos, snow crab at the raw bar, raw milk cheese samples (till they gave me dirty looks), and of course, a good pour over from the hipster kid who knew what was up and was probably high too.

I’d like to lie and say the rest of my high was a magical adventure, but I’d be lying. After stuffing my face, I took an Uber home and listened to “Sapiens” on Audible and JRE for the rest of the day. It was a far cry from the promised, “…gives the impression of experiencing stimulating sensations, increase the desire to be around others and even create an urge to laugh.”

The high had lasted well over 10 hours… Yes, 10 fuckin’ hours!

I am way too old to be that high for that long. I’ve taken edibles a bunch of times and this spray was right up there as one of my more  “memorable” weed experiences.

Learn from my mistake and only take one spray if you decide to indulge. Don’t be an idiot like me and take 2. Wait about two to three hours for the spray to kick in. I’m sure some people can handle this, if not something stronger.  Also, I don’t recommend this high for a bachelor party unless it’s a rainy day or you want to REALLY relax the rest of the afternoon. This spray is definitely not something I’d recommend before going out.

It’s important to note that for less than $1 I was high all day. The bang for your buck is off the charts. It’s clear Canada is not fucking around with weed legalization and is taking aim at the “black market” with superior products at dirt cheap prices.

It’s 11pm and I’m going to bed. I am still buzzed and defeated. Solei Renouer 1, Me 0.

Test 2 coming soon…

Best Fall Day Drinking Spots In Montreal

As long as alcohol has been around, people enjoy consuming booze at different hours during the day and night. The whole point of a bachelor party is to be as drunk as possible for as long as possible throughout the weekend. Montreal day drinking is a must. Although we have sadly bid farewell to summer 2018 and have already laid out the best day drinking bars in Old Montreal, here are 5 of our favorite fall drinking spots in Montreal:

Vices And Versa

If you are rolling with a group of beer snobs, Vices and Versa is the bar that you need to head to. With a dizzying selection of local Québec craft brews and hard to find European beers all written on a hipster approved chalkboard, the bar is a great place to kick back and relax with your crew. If you want some sophisticated eats with your regional beers, get the charcuterie and cheese plate. No better way to experience Montreal than being a classy drunk.

Fall Day Drinking

Siboire

Much like Vices and Versa, Siboire offers delicious regional brews. They often rotate their beers every week so the selection is superb. What we like about Siboire and what they are known for is their beer flights. You can try up to 6 small sample sizes of the beers of your choosing. Pair this with their fish and chips while watching the Habs game on their giant flatscreen TVs.

Siboire Fall Day Drinking

Dieu Du Ciel

This is a great Montreal day drinking spot! Across the street from Siboire is the shining star in Montreal’s craft beer scene. Dieu Du Ciel has consistently been ranked as one of the best breweries in Canada. They are known for their classic, freshly brewed Péché Mortal Bourbon, which has been voted one of best craft beers in the world. The only downside is that there food menu is lacking so grab some lunch ahead of time.

Dieu Du Ciel Day Drinking

Benelux

This a classic bachelor party spot and it is the perfect spot to kick off any drunken daytime adventure in Montreal. With its central downtown location right on Sherbrooke Street, it is a great bar to throw some party girls into the mix (We can also set up a college girl pub crawl if you want us to do the work for you!). Be sure to try their IPAs (Our favorite is their West Coast IPA). With its close location to all the universities, it’s ideal for meeting a few local hotties.

Benelux

Le Sainte-Élisabeth

Le Sainte-Élisabeth is definitely a hidden gem. You might never find this place on a small street off of Saint-Catherine Street, but it’s well worth making the trip. It’s got something for everyone from your beer belly Bud Light drinkers to elegant, dressed up European beers like Delirium. It’s more of a down and dirty drinking spot compared to your fancier craft beer spots that we previously mentioned. A nice bonus is that the bartenders are hot, French Canadian girls. No better time to practice your 10th grade French after a few drinks.

Why Curling Is A Great Daytime Activity For Bachelor Parties

What’s the first thing you think of when someone mentions curling? Crickets…Sure, the sport is a bunch of grown men sweeping ice with broomsticks, but you probably don’t think of a bachelor party. Once the summer activities start to die down and pumpkin spice season starts, curling becomes a popular activity here in Montreal. Here’s 3 reasons you should consider curling for your bachelor party:

Unique Activity

It seems like every bachelor party tries to one up the next one. Sure, we can easily throw more girls, more strip clubs, and more midgets into the mix, but how many bachelor parties go curling? Now’s your time to finally learn this mysterious game you’ve only seen on TV at the Olympics. Besides, you can finally take pictures (semi) sober with your boys and send it back to the girlfriend or wife…unless you bring along party girls of course 😉

Curling Montreal

Fun For Everyone

There are always pros and cons with daytime activities. Some guys may not like getting splashed with freezing cold water if they go jet boating or others may be scared of heights if you go zip lining, but curling is fun for the whole group. I’ve never seen an unhappy sweeper and even though the staff will explain the game to you, half the fun is not knowing what the hell you’re doing. If you’re looking to satisfy everyone in your bachelor party group, curling is a great fall and winter daytime option.

Curling Montreal

Bar

Any sport that you can do while drinking is already amazing. Just like bowling, curling is made even better with an ice cold beer in hand. Luckily for you, there is a bar inside the curling arena. It helps loosen up the muscles and makes sweeping all the more fun. By the time the afternoon is over, you and your buddies will be well on your way to making the national curling team.

3 Ways To Make The Bachelor Party More Memorable

Bachelor parties are suppose to be extravagant and ridiculous. In the Connected Montreal R & D lab, we are always coming up with new ideas to take the bachelor party to the next level. We know what works…and what doesn’t work (Staying anywhere other than the island of Montreal for example.) Here are 3 tried-and-true ways to make the bachelor party more memorable:

Girl On Girl Show

Sometimes in the bachelor party, there are guys you may not know from other parts of the bachelor’s life. There is nothing that breaks the ice like two girls (or more…) enjoying each other’s company in the privacy of your hotel room or house. We’re sure that after this bonding experience, you’ll be fast friends. We’ve even seen the most hard to impress New Yorkers have their jaws on the ground after a girl on girl show. Take the experience up a notch and have the girls do a show in a cigar lounge. Not bad scenery to enjoy while smoking a Hoyo de Monterrey.

Memorable Bachelor Party

Naked Sushi

Nyotaimori, also known as naked sushi for those that speak English, is a one of a kind experience. You’ll have an expert sushi chef create delicious rolls and sashimi on a hot, handpicked model for the whole bachelor party to enjoy. It’s a great way to start the night before you head to the strip club or have a big night out. It’s something you and the boys will be talking about long after you leave Montreal.

Memorable Bachelor Party 3

Midget

Throwing a midget into the mix is certainly not for everyone, but there’s nothing that gets the party started like a little guy in a tuxedo. He’ll pour you drinks, scour the club for hot girls, and add a nice little (pun intended) touch to the bachelor party. Remember that midgets are in short supply so if you break, you buy.

Best Boozy Brunch In Montreal

While Montreal’s brunch game is strong, its boozy brunch scene is another story… Chasing after a good boozy brunch is like finding a unicorn, they just don’t exist. Either you have good mimosas (man-mosas if you are one of those guys) or incredible food. Unlike New York or other cities on the East Coast, pairing them together still hasn’t made it this far north.

Luckily, Montreal has some cooler daytime options beyond what you normally would do back home. The bachelor party weekend can be a whirlwind so we recommend choosing at most two of these daytime activities:

Tame Daytime Options

Go-Karting

Every bachelor party needs to get the competitive juices flowing. Going to the go-kart track is a great way to try and bet your way to free drinks from your buddies. There is no greater satisfaction than watching the bachelor wipe out…Hopefully the wedding isn’t next weekend.

Jet Boating

Jet boating is certainly not for every bachelor party, but if you want to quickly cure your hangover by getting splashed in the face by water on the Saint Lawrence River, this is the option for you. You’ll be ready for lunchtime drinks by the time you’re done with jet boating.

Rooftop Drinking

Summertime in Montreal is made for drinking outside. So why not make it scenic and drink on rooftops in Old Montreal? You’ll have a great view of Montreal’s skyline and it’s the best place to day drink. We recommend checking out the rooftop on the William Grey hotel or Terrace Place D’Armes.

Boozy Brunch

Terrasse Place D’Armes

Memorable Daytime Options

Brisket And Breasts

You’re going to visit Schwartz’s for smoked meat anyway so save yourself time and hassle by having it catered to you. Throw in some topless waitresses and lunch just became way more entertaining.

Topless Beer Pong

Once you’ve lined your stomach with smoked meat, have the girls jump into the fun and play beer pong with you and your boys. You’re shot percentage will be worst than Charles Barkley’s three point percentage.

Ultimate Daytime Saturday Itinerary

10 AM: Hangover Cure

You had a crazy Friday night, but your buddies are aggressively waking you up to go jet boating at 9 AM. You’re miserable until the first wave smacks you in the face and you suddenly feel invincible. Bring on day drinking.

12:30 PM: Drinks With A View

You and the boys decide to head to Terrasse Sur L’Auberge to start the day drinking marathon. You switch to vodka sodas at the William Grey and decide that shots are a good idea at Terrasse Place D’Armes.

4 PM: Lunch Is Served

By the time you reach your bachelor pad, the girls and Schwartz’s is waiting for you. The group is so hungry that they don’t even notice the topless girls serving them until later… Lunch will never be the same again.

Boozy Brunch montreal

5 PM: Pre-Game

The guys combined their Brisket And Breasts lunch with topless beer pong to start pre-gaming the night ahead. Let’s just say the girls made sure the guys were nice and buzzed by the time they head to dinner.

7:30 PM: Supper Club

Supper clubs are special to Montreal. The group starts off with a delicious set menu dinner by an acclaimed chef at Sousbois before the lights dim and the bottles come out. The guys had to be dragged out of the club.

Montreal Bachelor Party Review: 26 Guys From Chicago

The Setup

Last week, we had a bachelor party group that came in from Chicago and the average age of the party was 31. They wanted to have a nice dinner, a boozy brunch, some clubbing thrown into the mix, and your traditional strip club visit for their Montreal bachelor party. They didn’t want anything too out of the ordinary, but the only challenge was the group’s size. 26 is a massive bachelor party. Luckily, we have all of the contacts necessary to pull off accommodating such a large group.

Montreal Bachelor Party

Soubois

The Plan

The guys originally wanted to tackle their accommodation situation on their own, but we they finally saw the light when we had an opening for them at our 3430 Sainte Famille property. (Click here to see the house brochure.) Here’s a breakdown of their weekend:

-Our (Gold) standard services: host, no cover, no waiting in lines, no tipping for entry, itinerary, no reservations, suggested beer/ activities tour
-House built specifically for bachelor parties in the perfect location. 4 floors, 5 bedrooms, and 4,500 square feet to get crazy
-Supper Club
-Brunch
-Strip Club Visit, 3 Bottles Total
-VIP Table Both Nights, 8 Bottles Total
-5 Party Girls To Break Up The Sausage Fest
Montreal Bachelor Party

3430 Sainte Famille

Execution

When dealing with such a large group, timing is key. We wanted to make sure the guys had enough free time to not feel like they were on a 8th grade field trip, but enough going on to occupy their time. This way no one in the group will burnout and miss an event or two because they are nursing a wicked hangover from the night before.

Two weeks before the arrival of the bachelor party, we sent over a tentative itinerary that laid out exactly how they weekend would look. We fine tuned some of their itinerary and locked everything down the week of their arrival.

Bachelor Party Montreal

La Voute

 Recap

I don’t want to get the guys in trouble with their significant other, but what I can say is that the weekend was a great time and went off without any hiccups. Everyone still has their job. No one went to jail. The guys already are planning a boy’s weekend next year…Only difference is they want a lesbian show next time they roll through town. Well played.

The Best Strip Clubs In Montreal

There are a few must trys here in Montreal. Poutine, axe throwing, and French-Canadian girls make the list, but heading to a strip club in Montreal should be the first place you visit for your Montreal bachelor party. You’re doing everything wrong if you don’t at least stop by a strip club for a few drinks or a bottle at some point during the weekend to take in the scenery. Why waste your time chasing regular girls around when the strip clubs are full contact and the strippers are already naked? Here are the best strip clubs in Montreal:

Kamasutra

If you are used to giant warehouse strip clubs then Kamasutra might seem a bit more “intimate”. This hidden gem is found on a side street off of Saint Laurent. It’s known for its hot, friendly girls and cheap $4 shots. Kamasutra is a bit classier (If you can even say that about a strip club) since they are only open at night and don’t subject anyone to dayshifters. Lesbian dances are available for $40, but you’re better off getting a private girl on girl show  in the comfort of your own place.

Strip Clubs MTL

Club Downtown

Located in the heart of downtown on the bustling St. Catherine Street, Club Downtown is easy to walk past if you’re a few drinks in and is most likely not the first strip club you think of. Despite its low key appearance, Downtown always delivers. It’s cheap $10 lap dances definitely play a big part in that. Just like party girls, you can’t just get one.

Strip Clubs Montreal

Chez Parée

We saved the best for last. We’ve spent many a drunk night getting one too many lap dances in Chez Parée. A long time favorite of visiting NHL players, Chez Parée has been a quality strip club for over 10 years now and plays host to some of the hottest strippers in Montreal. If you only have time to hit up one strip club, you have to pay a visit to Chez Parée. You’ll be impressed with the quality of the girls and even Vegas can’t beat $15 full contact lap dances.

Response To Travel+Leisure’s Montreal Bachelor Party Guide

In our 12 years of being THE bachelor party planning experts in Montreal, this actually has to be THE worst Montreal bachelor party guide we’ve seen. Slow clap for Travel+Leisure.

According to Travel+Leisure’s Montreal bachelor party guide, a bachelor party cares about “cobblestone streets” or “Gothic-Revival Basilica”. I’m willing to bet money that no bachelor party has ever stopped to notice the church’s architecture after stumbling out of Bord’elle at 3AM.

Of course, you want to see some of the cultural highlights of the city, but for most of you that’s only cover up for what you ACTUALLY did over the weekend. In fact, we now sell group pictures of you and your crew with a Photoshopped backdrop of Mont Royal or the Biodome. As we say, we take care of EVERYTHING and ANYTHING that involves the bachelor party.

Here’s why Travel+Lesiure’s Montreal Bachelor Party guide is setting you up for disaster:

Hotel St. James

This a bachelor party weekend, not a “relaxing” getaway with your future ex-wife. Stay in a hotel or better yet one of our houses that are perfectly suited for your bachelor party. The St. James is one of the fanciest hotels in the city. There’s usually more Maybachs parked outside than Jay-Z’s mansion. The place is also quite dated inside. More of a place your parents or grandparents would enjoy. We guarantee that no one in your bachelor party cares about the “Old World elegance” or “19th century details” of the rooms. Why waste your money on architecture when you can get a much better local perspective from our hot party girls?

Montreal Bachelor Party Guide

La Distillerie

We’ll give it to La Distillerie. Their drinks are pretty good, but the narrow layout of the bar and high chairs make it a terrible place to grab drinks for a bachelor party. It’s better to be able to spread out and not worry about knocking anyone out when you push back from your chair to inevitably break the seal. Also, in a city with world class restaurants munching on popcorn and beef jerky is like drinking Natty Ice (or PBR for the hipster writer) at the Catalina Wine Mixer.

Montreal Bachelor Party Guide

Stereo Nightclub

Unless you are rolling your face off or enjoy being sober (Said no bachelor party ever)… There is absolutely no reason to go to Stereo, bachelor party or not. The fact that there are no strip clubs or even decent clubs on their list is a disgrace, but then again they probably don’t want to rock the boat and lose advertisers (We lost all of ours a decade ago)

Montreal bachelor party guide

Don’t listen to some hipster from New York that Googled places to stay, eat, and drink at in Montreal. Hey hipster have you ever been to Montreal? We invite you and your crew to a REAL bachelor party weekend so you can leave Williamsburg behind for a bit while sipping on a vegan teenager’s breast milk latte and update your guide.

The Best Summertime Montreal Events For Your Bachelor Party

Montreal has events going on every weekend during the summer to make up for its freezing winter (If it weren’t for summer, we would have been in South Beach long ago). Most events are located downtown or an Uber ride away so they are accessible no matter the size of your bachelor party. Here are the four best summertime Montreal events for your bachelor party:

Grand Prix (June 8-10)

Montreal’s Super Bowl takes places every second weekend in June. If you actually care about F1, most people don’t, the big race takes place on Sunday afternoon. Trials take place on Friday and Saturday.

Now, for the information people actually care about: the partying. The city comes alive starting Thursday with outdoor festivals and bars, but so do the prices. If you partake in the festivities, be ready to pay Vegas prices at any night club in the city. You’ll be rewarded though with one of the most fun weekends of the year. Everyone is here to p arty and have a great time so the atmosphere only adds to a bachelor party weekend.

Montreal Summer Bachelor Party

Jazz Fest (June 28-July 7)

Montreal’s Jazz Fest is the largest jazz fest in the world and for good reason. The festival runs for a week and a half with concerts from noon to midnight. It’s ideal for a bachelor party since most of the free concerts take place in Place Des Arts, which is at the heart of downtown and where you should be staying anyway (If you’re staying off the island, stop reading immediately).

Jazz fest Montreal Bachelor Party

Just For Laughs (July 11-July 29)

Just For Laughs has become a mainstay on Montreal’s summertime event calendar. The two and a half week festival brings in big names such as Kevin Hart, Jerry Seinfeld, and Trevor Noah. There’s also great shows, especially the Nasty Show, that is ideal for bachelor parties. There’s no better way to get the night started then going to a Just For Laughs show. If you are in town during JFL, you have to go to at least one show.

Just For Laughs Montreal Bachelor Party

Osheaga (August 3-5)

Canada’s answer to Coachella happens every first weekend in August and is a 15 minute Uber ride away from the downtown core. They have all sorts of different music from electronic to rap to rock from big headliners to no name bands. Osheaga is a great daytime activity for a bachelor party and it’s easy to snag day passes. Just leave the flower headband to your future ex-wife.

Where NOT To Stay For Your Bachelor Party In Montreal

Montreal is a pretty small city compared to Manhattan or Chicago, but it doesn’t mean every neighborhood is well suited for a bachelor party. We’ve been planning bachelors parties for over a decade now and we know how important being well located is to having an epic bachelor party weekend. Being in the perfect place close to all the bars and clubs not only saves you money on Uber rides and the headache of moving a large group of guys around, but lets girls know you’re not cheap (definitely sleazy) douchebags and they will want to come to your pad for an after party.

Here is where NOT to stay for your bachelor party in Montreal.

Anywhere Off Island

There is no way to sugar coat this one, but if you’re staying off the island, you’re a moron. It’s right up there with not getting bottles at the club. You came to party and have an epic weekend in Montreal, not St. Lambert. Besides ruining your weekend and making the bachelor party a huge sausage fest, staying off island becomes ridiculously expensive and a logistical nightmare taking Uber back and forth with 10 guys.

Good rule of thumb is if there is a bridge, burn it.

Where to stay for your Montreal Bachelors Party

Address doesn’t say Montreal? AVOID.

Postal code not in Montreal? AVOID.

If your Airbnb says that it is in Laval, Brossard, St. Lambert, Dorval, Pointe-Claire, or any place not named Montreal, GET A REFUND.

Easiest thing to know is stay DOWNTOWN. However, a lot of the honorable hosts fudge the location of their places. Use this guide to determine if it’s really a good location. Or if you want just give us a call and we will tell you in 10 seconds if it’s worth booking or not.

Where Not To Stay On Island:

Old Montreal

Old Montreal is a great place to stay if you were, for example, a couple in their 80’s taking in the French architecture. Luckily, you’re not. You are a bachelors party. This district of Montreal is EXTREMELY touristy during the day and is considered more family friendly.  Walk around the area before you go to a supper club, fine, but take the party elsewhere.

Old Montreal Boundaries:

-South: St.Lawrence River                           East: Berri Street

-North: St. Antoine Street                           West: McGill Street

Gay Village

If you walk far enough east on St.Catherine, it turns into the gay village and if you walk into the strip clubs in that part of Montreal, you won’t see women stripping. It’s easy to see why this is the wrong area to stay for a bachelor party…

Where To Stay In Montreal For Your Bachelors Party

Map Of Gay Village

Gay Village Boundaries:

-South: Rene Levesque Boulevard              East: Papineau Street

-North: Ontario Street                                 West: Berri Street

Boutique Hotel

We get groups every year that book a suite or block of rooms at any hotel and end up getting kicked out. Why? Because a lot of hotels, boutique especially, don’t allow bachelor parties. They’re great for a weekend get away with your future ex-wife, but awful for bachelor parties. Don’t worry though, we’ve vetted all hotels that we work with and make sure they are bachelor party friendly. Just use as it chance to scout out places to stay on your return trip to Montreal for your divorce party.

Anywhere Outside Downtown Core

There’s a lot happening in Montreal during the summer…but that brings traffic. The joke in Montreal is that you are always 10 minutes from downtown, but everyone knows that is not the case. There are festivals every weekend that close roads and construction detours all over the city. Who wants to waste hours waiting in traffic when you can be making it rain at Kamasutra within minutes? Unlike other big cities in North America, where it costs a fortune to be anywhere near downtown, in Montreal, you can be centrally located and have it be affordable.
