The Best Montreal Hangover Meals

When you come to Montreal on a bachelor party, your going to follow a pretty straight forward formula: dinner, strip club, go out, after party, repeat. Then comes the next morning and it feels like Pierre the midget is trying to force his way out of your head. Luckily, Montreal knows you came here to party and is ready with a variety of hangover food options. Here’s 6 of our favorite Montreal hangover meals:

Poutine

Anyone that’s ever been to Montreal will tell you that you have to try poutine. We’re not sure what they sprinkle on it, but if you’ve ever had a hangover poutine, you know that feeling when you instantly come back to life. There are hundreds of poutine places all over Montreal, but head to La Banquise, a Montreal institution. Walk across the street to Parc LaFontaine to soak in some sun and if you’re feeling bold, have a beer or two with your meal to really clear that foggy head.

Bagels

Montreal vs. New York bagels… We know every New Yorker that is going to read this will defend their own version, but we don’t care since you’re on our turf. Head to St. Viateur for their bagel sandwiches or be a true Montrealer and get bagels with a tub of cream cheese. This is our personal favorite option since the combination of doughy bread with sweet and salty flavors will have you ready for the next big night out in no time.

Down And Dirty Brunch

Montreal’s brunch scene might not be as developed as the East Coast, but don’t sleep on several great options. L’Avenue is by far one of our favorites. Although the wait can be an hour or more on the weekend depending on when you arrive, the portions are more than generous (Especially the pancakes) and you’ll have a full grown food baby by the time you leave. Of course, any brunch can be turned into a boozy one, so if that’s what you want, L’Avenue is your best option.

Carb Overload

Carbs are a necessity when it comes to proper hangover recovery and Montreal is not short on carb loading options. Boustan’s is better known for its late night shenanigans, but it is also a great daytime eating spot. The Lebanese fast food restaurant serves up delicious shawarma, kebabs and falafel. If you’re more in the mood for a burger, head down the street to Crescent’s Burger Bar. After a quick scan of the menu, you’ll realize that they have already made the choice for you by offering a Hangover Burger. The burger consists of beef patties, cheese, bacon, poutine, truffle oil, caramelized onions, and for good measure, a fried egg. You can thank us later…

Hangover Burger

Dim Sum

This small portion Chinese brunch has exploded in popularity the last few years and there’s nothing better than greasy dumplings to soak up that remaining booze in your system. You really can’t go wrong with any dim sum restaurant in Chinatown on St. Laurent. Most have plenty of room to accommodate any size group so if your bachelor party consists of foodies, this is the hangover brunch for you.

Brisket And Breasts

When you have a pounding hangover, the last thing you’ll want to do is stand in line and wait for smoked meat. Make your life easier and throw some fun into the mix by having Schwartz’s catered to your house with some topless waitresses serving you. Unlike those 3 shots of tequila after drinking bourbon all night, this is a decision you won’t regret.

Best Bars For Day Drinking In Old Montreal

Old Montreal, also known as the Old Port to locals, is well known to known to your significant other with its French architecture and charming cobblestone streets, but it is surprisingly a great area for a bachelor party to go bar hopping during the day. It has a good mix of different bars from trendy, upscale cocktail lounges to beer and shot dive bars. Here are bars worth checking out for your next day drinking adventure in Old Montreal

Any  Bar With A Terrasse

First and foremost, if you do any day drinking in Montreal and the sun is out, you need to head to a terrasse (Terrasse= Patio). You’ll notice every local is outside trying to soak up as much sun as possible. Pretty much every bar in Old Montreal is open during the day and has a terrasse. While you can’t go wrong with any terrasse in the Old Port, we’d recommend going to Terrasse Nelligan. It offers incredible views of Montreal’s skyline and the nearby St. Lawrence River. Nelligan is a place to see and be seen since the crowd tends to skew towards their mid to late 20’s. If you want an even more upscale experience that attracts hot, local girls, head to Terrasse Bonsecours. During the week, Bonsecours is a more laid back drinking spot, but turns into an open-air party on the weekends. You really can’t go wrong with either of these terrasses.

Day Drinking Montreal

If drinking on a terrasse is not your thing for some odd reason or the weather is terrible, here’s where to go drinking:

SeaSalt & Ceviche Bar

One of the newer bars in Old Montreal, SeaSalt has quickly made an impression in its first two years of operation. The restaurant is huge so it can easily hold your entire bachelor party. The drink menu is unique and is filled with some interesting options. They are known for their sangria, which pairs nicely with any of their seafood options, but especially the ceviche. SeaSalt brings in a DJ on the weekend so it’s the perfect spot to get drinks before heading to dinner.

Day Drinking Old Montreal

Pub St. Paul

If grabbing pitchers of beer sounds more like your scene, this is your bar. Pub St. Paul may seem out of place in Old Montreal, but is a welcomed respite from the continued opening of trendy cocktail lounges. The bar isn’t going to blow you away with its decoration or drink options, but it’s a great place to hang out with your buddies and grab some drinks. It comes complete with pool tables and flatscreen TVs so it’s a solid option to drink at once the bachelor’s alma mater is playing on Saturdays.

Day Drinking Montreal

Les 3 Brasseurs

Yes, we know Les 3 Brasseurs is a chain microbrewery/ restaurant, but if we hadn’t mentioned that, you’d have no idea. The cool thing about Les 3 Brasseurs is that they brew beer specifically for the neighborhood they are located in. In the Old Port, that means that they have a beer dedicated to Old Montreal’s export-import history. Order a beer flight if you want to try a variety of beer offerings. It’s a good place to get annoyingly drunk and have good bar food before stumbling around the city or going to party.

Montreal Bachelor Party Review: 26 Guys From Chicago

The Setup

Last week, we had a bachelor party group that came in from Chicago and the average age of the party was 31. They wanted to have a nice dinner, a boozy brunch, some clubbing thrown into the mix, and your traditional strip club visit for their Montreal bachelor party. They didn’t want anything too out of the ordinary, but the only challenge was the group’s size. 26 is a massive bachelor party. Luckily, we have all of the contacts necessary to pull off accommodating such a large group.

Soubois

The Plan

The guys originally wanted to tackle their accommodation situation on their own, but we they finally saw the light when we had an opening for them at our 3430 Sainte Famille property. (Click here to see the house brochure.) Here’s a breakdown of their weekend:

-Our (Gold) standard services: host, no cover, no waiting in lines, no tipping for entry, itinerary, no reservations, suggested beer/ activities tour
-House built specifically for bachelor parties in the perfect location. 4 floors, 5 bedrooms, and 4,500 square feet to get crazy
-Supper Club
-Brunch
-Strip Club Visit, 3 Bottles Total
-VIP Table Both Nights, 8 Bottles Total
-5 Party Girls To Break Up The Sausage Fest

Execution

When dealing with such a large group, timing is key. We wanted to make sure the guys had enough free time to not feel like they were on a 8th grade field trip, but enough going on to occupy their time. This way no one in the group will burnout and miss an event or two because they are nursing a wicked hangover from the night before.

Two weeks before the arrival of the bachelor party, we sent over a tentative itinerary that laid out exactly how they weekend would look. We fine tuned some of their itinerary and locked everything down the week of their arrival.

 Recap

I don’t want to get the guys in trouble with their significant other, but what I can say is that the weekend was a great time and went off without any hiccups. Everyone still has their job. No one went to jail. The guys already are planning a boy’s weekend next year…Only difference is they want a lesbian show next time they roll through town. Well played.

Why Getting Party Girls Is The Best Decision You’ll Make All Weekend

You’re a bachelor party. That means you are a big group of guys (AKA a big ol’ sausage fest). In any city, especially one in a foreign country where you might not even speak the language, it’s important to have local, hot girls partying with you to balance out the ratio. It makes the bachelor party weekend that much more fun and prevents a situation where you and your boys are at the club, staring at each other. Here’s why getting party girls is the best decision you’ll make all weekend:

Status

When you roll up to the club with a bunch of guys and no girls, your group looks lame. Throw some party girls into the mix and all of sudden, your group looks way more approachable to other girls. Our party girls are model hot and some of the best looking in the city. It’ll be no surprise when the whole club starts to gravitate towards your table when you are out with our party girls. The rest of the night is in your hands.

Party Girls Connected Montreal

Party Starters

In the bachelor party, there may be some guys you have never met before or who don’t want to party for whatever reason. Party girls are a great way to break the ice and get the party started (Throw in some booze and you have a great night ahead of you.) A great way to kick off your weekend is with a college girl pub crawl. These local, hot, and impressionable girls with low GPAs and lower aspirations will take you and your crew around to different bars and get you very drunk. Some might call it shenanigans, we call it bonding. It’s a simple formula, but it works every time.

Party Girls Connected Montreal

Breaks Up The Sausage Fest

Bachelor parties, by their very nature, are one big sausage fest. Party girls add some flavor into the bachelor party and keep the party going. We handpicked these girls because they are hot, but also since they can talk about other things than how many Instagram followers they have. Yeah they may drink all of your booze, but that’s the point. You’re in Montreal to drop money on booze and boobs.

Montreal Bachelor Party review: How to impress 15 NYC guys who have done it all

The Setup

Had one of my long time clients – who finds any excuse to tag along on a Montreal bachelor party  – give me a call a few months ago. For the sake of his marriage, let’s call him Donald (fitting for the times). Donald informs me that one of his bosses is planning a bachelor party to Montreal and he needs us to blow it out as he thinks his bosses hate him (turns out they don’t). In any case, we need to make Donald and his boss look good.

After scheduling a call with Donald’s boss (alias: Bernie), we go over a few preliminary details. Overall, Bernie tells me that he is busy, his friends are degenerates, and he wants to make this event more memorable than the usual Vegas bachelor party. Luckily, the Donald has filled him in on a few of the more avant-garde details (topless beer pong and midgets) from his previous trips to let Bernie know he’s in good hands. Based on our initial ten minute conversation (mostly Bernie pausing to yell at his secretary) these were his priorities:

  • 15 guys for 3 nights, all 30-35, jaded and have seen it all (in his words “pain in the ass  New Yorkers”)
  • Great place to stay
  • Some sort of memorable debaucherous activity
  • One non-debaucherous activity so they feel better about the previous event
  • Great meals
  • Lots of hot girls
  • $1k per person ($15k total budget)

The Plan

I outlined a bachelor party package for them at $15k:

Connected Montreal New Yorkers

  • Our (Gold) standard Connected Montreal services, as always: host, no cover, no waiting in lines, no tipping for entry, itinerary and all reservations taken care of.
  • Exclusive bachelor-party-built house in the heart of downtown: 4 floors, 4500 sq feet, 6 bedrooms (Click here for house brochure)
  • Bottle service two of the 3 nights, 8 bottles total.
  • 5 young and impressionable girls (not hookers) to party with them at the club each night so that they don’t stand around and stare at each other.
  • 6 girl lesbian show at the house.
  • 4 girl topless beer pong.
  • Midget bartender.
  • Schwartz’s Catering lunch on one day.
  • Curling tournament (you’re in canada right?)

Execution

picture

When planning something of this scale, timing is everything. The key is to balance free time with scheduled events. Also, you want to calculate guys dropping out/getting too drunk as the day progresses. Big events like a suite party and topless beer pong are great afternoon activities since Montreal does not have a real boozy-brunch/pool party scene. The earlier, the better (well, after 12pm) as the guys and strippers are a lot “fresher”.  Another strategy we implement with bigger groups is not stacking too many events, as some guys will never make it (or be able to keep up).

Two weeks before the event, I sent over a tentative itinerary to Donald and Bernie. We fine-tuned it a bit and the plans were in motion. I had the girls stocked, the clubs prepped, and the midget on standby.

Recap

With every bachelor party there are going to be hiccups, from guys dropping out, to flights being delayed, to girls having to stay home to wash their hair. While I can’t go into a blow by blow account of the bachelor party, overall, the weekend went silky smooth. All the guys survived- some less than others- and no one ended up pregnant. Bernie did his group right and The Donald still has his job. The group is already planning a return trip for the Grand Prix

How to do a proper dinner for your bachelor party

While the main focus of a bachelor party is booze and girls, food can also play a central role. Everyone loves a good meal, your fat “foodie” friend included, so it’s important to do them right. Oftentimes, meals are the only opportunity for your entire party to be together and semi-sober.   Here are some ways to make the bachelor’s “Last Meal” memorable:

Add Strippers

When it comes to bachelor parties, strippers make everything better. This is why, for a truly memorable experience, we offer two- girl shows in a discreet, private room at a premier steakhouse.  Having your own private space at a steakhouse is a great start, but having two or even four (although the record is 8) ladies come in and perform on the table makes for a slightly more memorable experience. A few years ago, I chose this very scenario for my own brother’s bachelor party; to this day, people still talk about it, except for my sister-in-law … she no longer speaks to me.

A two-girl show starts at $1000.

Experience naked sushi

For some clients, a show at the steakhouse is too crude.  For others, one nudity-related dining experience just isn’t enough.  In either case, naked (aka body) sushi fits the bill. We will provide your group with a private sushi chef and a naked model at either your hotel suite or a restaurant. Known in Japan as nyotaimori, it’s an experience like no other.

Naked sushi starts at $1500

Go to a supper club

A trip to a supper club is a bachelor party “must do.”  Not that well-known south of the border, supper clubs are a Montreal institution.  Essentially, you go there for a late dinner and, afterwards, they turn down the lights and turn up the music.  This is a high-end affair and bottles service is a must.  The waitresses are model hot and will probably screw up your order, but you won’t care because the place is  packed with beauties.

Go “high-end”

If you take your cuisine seriously, or want to give the Applebee’s-loving bachelor an experience to remember, then “high-end” is the way to go.  We can get you a table at the best restaurants in the city:  Au Pied de Cochon, Garde Manger, Joe Beef, La Belle Province … the list goes on.  These places will guarantee Instagram worship for your foodie friends and inspire jealousy in people you hardly know.  Montreal offers some of the finest and most innovative cuisine in North America, particularly for the money. Why not try a more high-end route?

picture

We are always trying to offer innovative ways to take your Montreal bachelor party to the next level. One of the best ways is to break up the daylight hours with some type of nudity-related activity.

While lesbian shows and topless beer pong seem to be the perennial favorites, we wanted to offer something for all the gamers out there.  Thus, “N00bs and Boobs” was born.

Game against some of Montreal’s finest topless girls in the comfort of your hotel. You supply the noobs – we supply the boobs.

Lets us know the preferred console and game(s) and we will take care of the rest.

Why You Always Want to Have a Private Two-Girl Show at a Bachelor Party

A recent article in Cosmopolitan (someone left it in the bathroom, I swear!) titled Confessions of a Bachelor Party Stripper outlined how crazy things can get at a bachelor party. I say with a smile that they get much crazier here in Montreal. Be sure to read some of the comments for a good laugh.

As experts who have planned and hosted hundreds of bachelor parties in Montreal, we have learned what really adds to the experience. Having a two-girl lesbian show in the privacy of your hotel or AirBnb is a sure fire way to create a legendary bachelor party. Here are some other reasons doing a show with Connected Montreal is a great bachelor party idea:

    • WOW Factor

Unless you are Charlie Sheen, having two smoking hot, young girls walk into your hotel room is sure to impress the group. Even the biggest loud mouth of the group tends to be silent during the show.

    • Quality

The 2 girls that will put on the show have been hand selected by us for quality AND for personality. We go through a rigorous selection process to make sure we have the perfect girls for your bachelor party. They will be punctual, polite, fun, and of course, very attractive. They will never try to scam you for tips and you do not have to “feed the meter” to have them perform: we make sure all the costs are included. Anyone who has tried to arrange anything similar on their own knows how difficult it is to find good help.

  • Cost

To the untrained eye, $600 for a two-girl show might seem like a lot, but it’s actually quite the bargain when you compare the cost of going out to a strip club. If you are 10 guys, that comes up to $60 a person. $60 at a Montreal strip clubs will cover your entrance, tip, and one lap dance. I guarantee that one lap dance will not be as memorable as a private show experience. A few months (or years) down the road, are you going to remember the $60 you saved or the show of a lifetime?

Overall, a two-girl show is an experience not to be missed for a bachelor party. However, it may be too much for some bachelor parties. It’s best to check in with the whole group to see what everyone wants. We can always add a show to your trip when you are in town.
