The Best Fall Activities For A Montreal Bachelor Party

We aren’t going to sugar coat this one, but summer is definitely the best time to have a bachelor party in Montreal. It’s okay you can always come back for a boy’s weekend next weekend …Don’t be disappointed though if you happen to come in October, there is still plenty to do (Including some activities you can only do in fall!)

Here are the 5 best fall activities for a Montreal bachelor party:

Curling

We’ve already laid out why curling is a great daytime activity and it is one of the best things to do in the fall. It’s a unique experience for any bachelor party and adds something special to the weekend. First, you’ll learn how to play the game in one of the oldest curling clubs in North America. You’ll then be split into two teams and get competitive. Luckily, there is a bar on site to add some excitement to the afternoon. Losers buy next round!

College Girl Pub Crawl

Fall in Montreal is cold. Drinking is a down right necessity just to stay warm. You’re going to day drink  anyway so why not add some heat to the afternoon by having some local college girls lead you around on a pub crawl. You and your buddies will discover some bars you would have never found on your own, get drunk, and have some hot girls break up the sausage fest that is a bachelor party.

Canadiens Game

The Canadiens are Montreal’s only professional sports team (R.I.P Expos) and every home game is one giant party. Whether your bachelor party cares about hockey or not, going to a game is an experience like no other. I highly recommend getting tickets (We can help!), getting drunk on Molson’s, and heckling the players…It’s an authentic Montreal fall activity.

Pick Up Hot Montreal Girls

Fall is the perfect time to pick up hot college girls for a number of reasons. School is back in session, it’s cold, but not too cold to go out yet, and French Canadian girls are notoriously “friendly”. It also helps that people don’t barhop as much as they would in summer and tend to stay put in one spot. Here are your best bets for meeting hot Montreal girls.

Axe Throwing

Bored lumberjacks created axe throwing and somehow it has become a favorite daytime bachelor party activity. Most Canadians get drunk and find some random forest to do their axe throwing, but we’ll start you off easy, eh. The competition that axe throwing brings is always a welcomed addition to any bachelor party.

How to get cheap flights to Montreal for your bachelor party

When it comes to planning a bachelor party it’s essential to make every dollar count. Undeniably, one of the biggest killers of your budget is usually the flight. If road-tripping to Montreal doesn’t appeal to you, here are some smart and easy ways to help you get cheap flights to Montreal.

Book Early

While booking early is the simplest concept, it’s always the most underrated. The summer is peak travel season and like clockwork, flights always end up skyrocketing in price starting in the spring.  If Montreal’s your destination, then book your flight ASAP. You’ll thank us later.

Try Skiplagged

Skiplagged is a new and controversial way to find cheap flights. What they do is search for flights where your destination is the stop over for another flight. This tends to be a lot cheaper and we’ve used it successfully on a few flights to and from Montreal.  The only thing is that you cannot check in any bags as you will be getting off the plane prematurely. Typically, this is a non-issue for bachelor party goers who tend to travel light.

Use Points and Credit Card Sign-Up Bonuses

*** We are in no way affiliated with any credit card companies nor do we feel like preaching to you about personal financial responsibly***

This is a subject near and dear to our hearts. If you have decent credit and are not accumulating airline/reward points you are missing out! Montreal is often considered a short haul flight from most major U.S cities, making its redemption value in points fairly low.  United, British Avios, Aero Plan, and Sky Miles all offer reward flights to Montreal on the cheap.

Here’s how it works. Take British Airways Avios points as an example:

cheap flight to montreal

For a $350-500 flight, all you need to do is to redeem 9,000 points and then pay $52 in taxes!

It also important to note that if you have an Amex you can transfer your reward points (sometimes greater than 1:1) to dozens of  frequent flier programs including Avios at little or no charge.

Double dip that chip!

Right now most major credit cards are offering a crazy amount of points if you sign up for one of their cards. If you don’t have any of these we would highly recommend trying to sign up for one as the bonuses are worth it.   For example, Chase is offering a 50,000 AVIOS point bonus for their British Airways Signature Card.  You could book a package with us and get a few free flights if done properly.

Top 10 Things NOT to Wear at a Montreal Nightclub

I’m the first to admit that I am not the most stylish guy, nor do I read GQ (unlike someone else that works here). However, I feel compelled to call out these 10 fashion mistakes that are so blatantly obvious, that even I can spot them. Unless you want to be a real douche, it’s important to know what not to wear at a club in Montreal.

10. Sunglasses

pictureIt’s not sunny at night. Montreal nightclubs are not like those in Miami. The fact you can’t see anything with sunglasses on in the dark makes you look like a tool, not cool.  If your friend wears sunglasses to the club, I will personally make him take them off or ask him all night where his seeing-eye dog is.

9. Vests

pictureProhibition is over. Unless you are there to refill the water or wipe off bread crumbs from my table, DO NOT wear a vest.

#8 Jeans with Flaps over the Pockets

pictureTrue Religion or any other over-the-top jeans with flaps over the pockets are the worst. They are usually accompanied by someone with a spray tan and frosted tips.

7. Unlit Cigars

pictureI’ve seen this a few times. What’s worse is keeping one dangling in your mouth for the night. You can’t smoke anywhere inside in Montreal and you’re not on the cover of Cigar Aficionado. If you want a cigar, go to a cigar lounge.

6. Anything with a Huge Designer Logo on It

pictureDo they pay you to wear that or are you proud of what you found on the sale rack at TJ Max? Gear with big designer logos are beyond lame and reserved for Russian gangsters and Mexican cleaning ladies.

5. Suit and Tie

pictureThis often comes as a shock to some people, but in Montreal, a suit is a sign that you’re overdressed. The dress code in Montreal is much more relaxed. If everyone in your group is sporting suits, it’ll look like you came from your local hockey banquet. If you’re a big guy like me, you’ll get hounded every two minutes as to the location of the bathroom.

4. Khakis

pictureUnless you just came from Martha’s Vineyard, do not wear khakis. Our clients from New England, the land that fashion forgot, are most guilty of this. Jeans are allowed and actually preferred everywhere in Montreal. Don’t look like you work at Best Buy.

3. Bedazzled Shirts

pictureMy grandmother also collects Swarovski crystals. This could be the ultimate sign of a douche. Luckily, this trend seems to be dying. Having anything sparkly or shiny on a t-shirt is a criminal offense. You are not cool and you do not fight in an octagon. If you dare wear this out, we will make you turn it inside out, or wear a sweater over it, like a slutty 16 year old girl sent to the principle’s office.

2. Fedoras or Any “Stylish” Hats

pictureOk, now you are just trying too hard. You are either balding or want attention. Unless you’re Chris Angel, the hat is doing you an injustice.

1. Bachelor Party Shirts/Outfits

pictureIf you are going to any half decent night club in Montreal, getting a large group of guys is no easy feat. Clubs want to see Large groups of guys as much as they want to see a fire inspector. Don’t make matters worse by wearing those horrible bachelor party shirts that your girlfriend made you. If you want to wear your shirt with “Ice Man”, “The Legend”, or any other unoriginal nicknames on the back, wear them to a bar during the day, not out to the club.
