Montreal Bachelor Party Review: 26 Guys From Chicago

The Setup

Last week, we had a bachelor party group that came in from Chicago and the average age of the party was 31. They wanted to have a nice dinner, a boozy brunch, some clubbing thrown into the mix, and your traditional strip club visit for their Montreal bachelor party. They didn’t want anything too out of the ordinary, but the only challenge was the group’s size. 26 is a massive bachelor party. Luckily, we have all of the contacts necessary to pull off accommodating such a large group.

The Plan

The guys originally wanted to tackle their accommodation situation on their own, but we they finally saw the light when we had an opening for them at our 3430 Sainte Famille property. (Click here to see the house brochure.) Here’s a breakdown of their weekend:

-Our (Gold) standard services: host, no cover, no waiting in lines, no tipping for entry, itinerary, no reservations, suggested beer/ activities tour
-House built specifically for bachelor parties in the perfect location. 4 floors, 5 bedrooms, and 4,500 square feet to get crazy
-Supper Club
-Brunch
-Strip Club Visit, 3 Bottles Total
-VIP Table Both Nights, 8 Bottles Total
-5 Party Girls To Break Up The Sausage Fest

Execution

When dealing with such a large group, timing is key. We wanted to make sure the guys had enough free time to not feel like they were on a 8th grade field trip, but enough going on to occupy their time. This way no one in the group will burnout and miss an event or two because they are nursing a wicked hangover from the night before.

Two weeks before the arrival of the bachelor party, we sent over a tentative itinerary that laid out exactly how they weekend would look. We fine tuned some of their itinerary and locked everything down the week of their arrival.

 Recap

I don’t want to get the guys in trouble with their significant other, but what I can say is that the weekend was a great time and went off without any hiccups. Everyone still has their job. No one went to jail. The guys already are planning a boy’s weekend next year…Only difference is they want a lesbian show next time they roll through town. Well played.

How To Kick Off Your Bachelor Party With A Bang

It’s one thing to arrive, but it’s another to make a statement. If you really want to kick off the bachelor party with a bang (no pun intended), we have a few suggestions. From friendly, hot girls giving you a sight to behold in the privacy of a limo to having the fridge stocked with whatever liquor and mixers you desire, we have you covered. Here’s the ultimate bachelor party welcome to Montreal:

Ultimate Airport Pickup:

You could be like every other bachelor party group and take an Uber to where you’re staying. Instead, kick it up a notch and pile the guys into a party bus with strippers in tow. The girls will put on a show that will put the weekend on the right track. We can even throw a midget into the mix and have your preferred booze waiting for you. By the time you get to the house or hotel (Check out this purpose built bachelor party house), the bachelor will have already forgotten about his upcoming wedding.

Ultimate House/ Hotel Arrival:

Fully Stocked Fridge Bachelor Party Arrival

Fully Stocked Fridge

You could be like every other bachelor party when they arrive to their house or hotel and immediately get the WIFI code to find the nearest liquor store. You and your crew, however, are already drunk and ready for more. When you arrive, we have already stocked the fridge with water, Sprite, Coke, and tonic water. The bottles of vodka are ice cold in the freezer. 3 bottles of Hendrick’s Gin are waiting in the kitchen and we threw in a bottle of Johnnie Walker Black, the bachelor’s favorite, as a token of our appreciation.

Party Girls

You could be like every other bachelor party and go wander St.Laurent aimlessly, trying to hit on anything that moves. You and your crew don’t have that problem. You have hot, local party girls waiting for you to arrive and ready to start playing drinking games with you. The sausage fest suddenly gets interesting.

Topless Beer Pong

Speaking of hot girls, playing beer pong against some topless, young ladies as soon as you arrive is the ultimate bonding experience. It’s not about sinking shots, (We know you never made the varsity basketball team anyway…) it’s more about being reminded of your early 20’s prime and enjoying the “scenery”.

Briskets And Breasts Bachelor Party

Brisket And Breasts

You could be like every other bachelor party and waste time trying to find somewhere that the whole group wants to eat at. Your group won’t have to worry about that because you’re already getting Schwartz’s smoked meat catered to the house with topless waitresses like the geniuses you are.

We recommend putting all four options together for the most memorable arrival to Montreal. Call or email us to get started.

4 Reasons To Stay At A Connected Montreal House

Whether you realize or not, where you stay makes a big difference in making your bachelor party epic. You’ll be spending more time at your house than you initially realize. It’s where you and your crew will meet, recover, and pregame nights out. You’ll want to make sure where you stay is well located and has all of the amenities you need to make your bachelor party weekend memorable. Luckily for you, we have houses that were specifically designed to host bachelor parties. Here are 4 reasons to stay with Connected Montreal:

Location

There’s a joke in Montreal that says you’re always 10 minutes from downtown. Everyone knows that’s not true, especially in summer, due to construction, road closures, and tourists.  We know all of the best spots in Montreal when it comes to clubs and restaurants. All of our houses are either within walking distance or a short Uber ride away from all of the action. You’re in Montreal only for a weekend so you want to maximize your fun and might as well save time and money in the process. Whatever you do, don’t ruin your bachelor party before it even starts by staying off the island

Reasons To Stay Connected Montreal House

Amenities

We know exactly what works and doesn’t work in bachelor party rental houses so we made sure our houses have it all. From pool tables to patio space to 65 inch flat screen TVs, we have everything your bachelor party needs to relax or get crazy. There’s no better way to recap the night before than playing a game of pool with a cold one. Little hard to do at the Holiday Inn Express.

4 Reasons To Stay Connected Montreal

Space

No matter the size of your bachelor party, it’s important to have space. Our houses were built with this mind. They each sleep at least 15 guys and have large, open living rooms for everyone to hangout in. There’s no way you can do this in a hotel where you might have to bunk up with another guy. Also, I’ve never met any girl that’s excited at the possibility of going to some no name motel in the South Shore. Mention the address of one of our houses and most girls already know them because they’ve been. Choose wisely.

4 Reasons To Stay Connected MontrealPrivacy

When you have a bachelor party, it’s important to make it unforgettable. One of our in house shows does the trick. Whether it’s topless beer pong, briskets and breasts, or a lesbian show, we still have yet to have one disappointed customer. All of this can take place in the privacy and comfort of one of our houses. No better way to start a night than boobies and booze.

The Worst Value For Your Bachelor Party In Montreal

There are things you can do to enhance your bachelor party…or make it awful. We’ve been planning bachelor parties for far too long so we know what works and what doesn’t. Following up on our post about the best value for your bachelor party, here is the WORST value for your bachelor party in Montreal.

Stack The Day Too Heavy

You guys are a bachelor party, not a school group. There is no reason to plan out every second of the day especially if you go out the night before. You should leave most of your day unplanned. Don’t fill your day with activities that will drain you and leave you tired before going out at night. At most, do one daytime activity such as axe throwing or white water rafting. You’ll thank us later.

Worst Value Bachelor Party

Limos

Limos might have been cool for your senior prom, but not now. Montreal is pretty small and if you stay here, you’ll be set. All of the best bars, clubs, and restaurants will be within walking distance. If, for some reason, you need to go somewhere further, pile everyone into an Uber. Welcome to the 21st Century.

Worst Value Bachelor Party

Not Getting Bottle Service

If you’re not getting bottle service, you might as well not go clubbing. Not getting bottle service is one of the biggest mistakes you can make for your bachelor party.  No matter the size of your bachelor party, having a table is essential. Unlike most cities (Looking at you, Vegas), getting bottle service in Montreal is cost effective. If you don’t get bottle service, you’ll have to fight with everyone else to get to the bar, wait for a drink, and lose your group. Beyond cost, getting bottle service allows for your group to be seen and have a piece of prime real estate in the club. Don’t be an idiot, get bottle service (LINK TO PACKAGES).

Bottle Value Bachelor Party

Going To Schwartz’s

Trying smoked meat in Montreal is a must, but standing in line for 2 hours is a terrible waste of time. There is always a massive line at Schwartz’s and cramming 10 guys in there is nearly impossible. The better option is to get Brisket and Breasts, where you get Schwartz’s smoked meat delivered straight to you piping hot served fresh by topless girls. We have yet to have a disappointed customer.

Response To Travel+Leisure’s Montreal Bachelor Party Guide

In our 12 years of being THE bachelor party planning experts in Montreal, this actually has to be THE worst Montreal bachelor party guide we’ve seen. Slow clap for Travel+Leisure.

According to Travel+Leisure’s Montreal bachelor party guide, a bachelor party cares about “cobblestone streets” or “Gothic-Revival Basilica”. I’m willing to bet money that no bachelor party has ever stopped to notice the church’s architecture after stumbling out of Bord’elle at 3AM.

Of course, you want to see some of the cultural highlights of the city, but for most of you that’s only cover up for what you ACTUALLY did over the weekend. In fact, we now sell group pictures of you and your crew with a Photoshopped backdrop of Mont Royal or the Biodome. As we say, we take care of EVERYTHING and ANYTHING that involves the bachelor party.

Here’s why Travel+Lesiure’s Montreal Bachelor Party guide is setting you up for disaster:

Hotel St. James

This a bachelor party weekend, not a “relaxing” getaway with your future ex-wife. Stay in a hotel or better yet one of our houses that are perfectly suited for your bachelor party. The St. James is one of the fanciest hotels in the city. There’s usually more Maybachs parked outside than Jay-Z’s mansion. The place is also quite dated inside. More of a place your parents or grandparents would enjoy. We guarantee that no one in your bachelor party cares about the “Old World elegance” or “19th century details” of the rooms. Why waste your money on architecture when you can get a much better local perspective from our hot party girls?

Montreal Bachelor Party Guide

La Distillerie

We’ll give it to La Distillerie. Their drinks are pretty good, but the narrow layout of the bar and high chairs make it a terrible place to grab drinks for a bachelor party. It’s better to be able to spread out and not worry about knocking anyone out when you push back from your chair to inevitably break the seal. Also, in a city with world class restaurants munching on popcorn and beef jerky is like drinking Natty Ice (or PBR for the hipster writer) at the Catalina Wine Mixer.

Montreal Bachelor Party Guide

Stereo Nightclub

Unless you are rolling your face off or enjoy being sober (Said no bachelor party ever)… There is absolutely no reason to go to Stereo, bachelor party or not. The fact that there are no strip clubs or even decent clubs on their list is a disgrace, but then again they probably don’t want to rock the boat and lose advertisers (We lost all of ours a decade ago)

Montreal bachelor party guide

Don’t listen to some hipster from New York that Googled places to stay, eat, and drink at in Montreal. Hey hipster have you ever been to Montreal? We invite you and your crew to a REAL bachelor party weekend so you can leave Williamsburg behind for a bit while sipping on a vegan teenager’s breast milk latte and update your guide.

Strategies For A Large Bachelor Party

If you are coming to Montreal and you are 10 or more guys, you are considered a large bachelor party. Everyone has different ideas about what they want to see and do. It is easy to see how the weekend can get messy for all the wrong reasons. Here are four proven strategies for a large bachelor party:

Decide On A Budget

In every large bachelor party group, there are always some guys who want to blow the budget out and some who are too cheap to even get a $15 lap dance at Chez Paree (In Canadian dollars might we add…Consider leaving these guys at home.). You want to find that sweet spot that makes the entire group happy.

Leave variable things such as meals and lap dances to guy’s own discretion. However, we recommend pre-paying your big ticket items such as bottles and strippers so they are already accounted for in the budget. If you don’t, you’ll be the guy on the hook for the bill and become a buzzkill trying to hunt everyone down for money. To make matters worse, you might not know everyone in the bachelor party group. There’s nothing more awkward than sending a Venmo request to some random guy before the weekend has even started…and they still haven’t paid you once the bachelor party weekend is over. Follow our advice, pre-pay, and it’ll be smooth sailing.

If you can’t agree on a budget, you could always invite that creepy rich friend pictured below that no one has talked to in years and have him cover your costs.

Strategies For A Large Bachelor Party

One Daytime Activity, If Any

Going anywhere is going to be a pain with 10 guys especially if you’re still feeling the night before (Legs and Eggs can change all of that though.) If you insist on doing a daytime activity such as axe throwing or jet boating, choose one. Otherwise, leave the day unplanned, walk around the city, and get ready for the next night with topless beer pong, for example. Boobies over boats.

Large Bachelor Party Strategies

Pace Your Drinking

We know your excited. You haven’t seen your buddies in a while and you’re ready to start pounding shots of Jameson at 11 AM. Easy there…Great when you were in college, but not so great years later on a bachelor party. Slow and steady is the best way to approach your drinking for the weekend. No one wants to be that guy your whole group has to throw in a cab because you passed out in a stripper’s lap. It’s a marathon, not a sprint, unless you sprint your marathons.

Stack The Deck In Your Favor

Trying to get into a club with 15 guys with no girls, who don’t speak French, and may not have the right clothes, is a hail mary. Don’t even try it…or you’ll end up calling us Saturday morning for help. It’s simple. To get into a club, you’ll have to bring girls. Luckily, we have young, hot, and impressionable party girls for your group to party with. You’re welcome.

Strategies For Large Bachelor Party

Whatever you do, definitely don’t make these bachelor party mistakes.

The Ultimate Guide To Montreal Grand Prix Weekend 2018

The Breakdown:

The F1 Canadian Grand Prix is one of two Grand Prix’s in North America (the other being Austin, Texas) and Montreal plays host to the international event that attracts over half a million visitors every early June. This year Montreal Grand Prix weekend 2018 will take place June 8th-10th.

Why Experience Montreal Grand Prix Weekend 2018?

The Canadian Grand Prix is on par with the Super Bowl for Montreal. At this point, it’s pretty much considered a holiday in Montreal. It brings F1 race fans to town and big time party goers from all over the world.

Montreal Grand Prix Weekend 2018

This is the most exclusive and expensive weekend in Montreal; however, with the right connections, it can be the best. We’ll make sure you don’t crash and burn!

Is Grand Prix Right For You?

Pairing the biggest weekend in Montreal with your bachelor party can either be a recipe for success or disaster. Because of high demand, prices are significantly higher than any other weekend. Montreal Grand Prix weekend is not for the price sensitive.

If price is less of a concern, Grand Prix will take your bachelor party to a whole new level. The atmosphere is like no other; clubs expand, major streets are closed off to traffic and celebrities are abound. This weekend is often less about the race and more about the parties. Large groups must be mindful that venues require purchase commitments during this weekend.

Most importantly, here’s what to do, where to eat, and where to party during Montreal’s Grand Prix weekend 2018:

What To Do?

The Race

Of course, the main highlight of the weekend is the race that takes place on Sunday afternoon. If you want, you can go on Friday and Saturday, to watch the practice runs and prelims. However, it’s a pain to get to the racetrack with the traffic. We’re not going to sugarcoat this: be ready to spend if you want to go to the race. The cheapest ticket you can find with a decent view of the track will cost you $450, but if you want to experience the race the right way, ball out on a $7,000 hospitality package. Most of time, it doesn’t matter though because our clients get too drunk or too hungover to even go.

Grand Prix Montreal 2018

Legs And Eggs

With so much going on during Grand Prix weekend, sometimes it is better to just stay at your house (Don’t stay at a hotel during Grand Prix, they all require 3 night minimums) and have breakfast made for you by two hot, local French Canadian girls. Always a crowd pleaser, it’s the best way to understand the culture… served fresh by two Montreal hotties.

Topless Beer Pong

Grand Prix weekend is special so why not spice up your usual beer pong game with your buddies by adding some topless girls into the mix? To be honest, there is nothing that bonds a group of guys better than boobs and booze. It’s a great way to pregame all the festivals and parties happening in the city. Get Schwartz’s catered during the event to line your stomach for the damage you’ll do to your body in the coming hours.

Crescent Street Festival

All your cheap, sleazy friends will enjoy this one. There’s no better place to be than Crescent Street on Grand Prix weekend. It becomes the main party area during the race weekend. From Thursday to Saturday, the street is closed off and turns into a free festival. There are DJs, cars, food, and hot girls…Exactly what you need for a successful bachelor party.

2018 Grand Prix Montreal

Where To Eat?

F1 weekend is the time for Montreal’s food scene to shine. Already considered one of the best in North America, food plays a big factor in doing Grand Prix right. Every restaurant is trying to sell you their biggest bottle of wine, the most oz’s of Kobe Beef, and 10 pound, $350 lobster. It’s not uncommon for most restaurants to make 40% of their annual revenue in this weekend to give you a grasp of the volume and insanity of the weekend. Many of the best restaurants book up in January and February for this weekend, but miracles can happen. Here’s where to eat during Grand Prix weekend:

Supper Clubs

Supper clubs, for those of you who don’t know or don’t have enough money to experience one, are gourmet restaurants that turn into nightclubs with crazy hot, model staff. Again, the theme of the weekend is money so be ready to spend if you hit up a supper club. We recommend Soubois because they always host some of the best parties during Grand Prix, but we have insider access to some unlisted parties. Message us or give us a call today to find out more.

Poutine

There’s no way you can visit Montreal without stuffing your face with poutine. It’s best enjoyed drunk so head to one of Montreal’s poutine institutions such as La Banquise or Poutineville. If you are the classier bunch, head to Aux Pieds Cochon for a more upscale, less drunk (or more, your call.) poutine experience.

Steakhouses

Montreal has some of the best steakhouses in North America. Moishes, named by Forbes as one of the best steakhouses in the world, is a great place to go for a group of guys. La Queue De Cheval is another fantastic option. A bit more upscale than Moishes, but you can’t beat their private dining rooms (perfect for a post dinner girl on girl show) and their cigar lounge. Scotch, cigars, great food… Great way to start a night.

How To Party

Grand prix weekend is so much more than cars going in circles around a racetrack. Most people don’t care about the race anyway, no one can name any of the drivers. However, everyone who comes to town is ready to party. Every club in Montreal hosts some sort of event or party during the weekend and most have something happening Thursday to Sunday (Few people know that Sunday is actually the best night to party because that’s when all the racers and their crews come out) The table minimums for every club is higher this weekend so be ready to get bottles, but don’t feel pressured to hit the clubs, there’s tons of free festivals and events going on. Here’s how to do F1 weekend right:

Bigger Isn’t Always Better

The big flashy parties sound cool, but often times it’s just rich douchebags looking at each other. For example, when we hit the Ferrari party last year, there were a bunch of old dudes and we were wondering where the hot girls were. Sometimes it’s better to be a big fish in a small pond and hit up a club like Rouge where hot, local girls from all over the country are partying. Bring some party girls to get even more attention from the young, impressionable girls.

Day Drinking

Usually, Montreal isn’t the best day partying city like Las Vegas for your bachelor party, but Grand Prix weekend changes the game. Like we mentioned earlier, Crescent street has a huge festival, but so do St. Laurent and Peel Streets. The Peel Paddock, located between St.Catherine and de Maisonneuve (walkable from all our houses), is the best place to day drink during the weekend. There’s also tons of bars built out into the streets and most places turn into good day drinking spots that otherwise would suck any other time of the year.

Best Cigar Lounges In Montreal

Your bachelor party is a time for you and your buddies to get together and bond over trying new things. New city, new food, jello wrestling with strippers… Sometimes though there is nothing better than a familiar vice, a good old fashioned cigar washed down with a strong scotch. It’s something that your girlfriend/wife/mistress wouldn’t approve of, but is always a crowd pleaser with the boys. Here are the best Montreal cigar lounges:

Best Montreal Cigar Lounges

La Casa Del Habano

La Casa Del Habano is where The Most Interesting Man in the World would go if he were to smoke a cigar in Montreal. Located in the heart of downtown, Casa has one of the largest selection of Cubans in North America, bound to put some hair on your shaved chest. It has any type of cigar you could ever want in their walk in humidor. The smoking area has an open floor plan, great for large groups. For the cigar connoisseur, they have Cohiba, Behike, Partagas, Montecristo, and Davidoff on hand. Pair a trip to Casa with a supper club and a lesbian show and you’ll have yourself an unforgettable night.

Best Montreal Cigar Lounges

Chez Alexandre

The combination restaurant and cigar lounge is a great place to kick off the night before heading to one of the great, morally sound institutions Montreal has to offer. Peel Street’s Chez Alexandre’s smoking room is small, a bit like your grandfather’s man cave, but can still accommodate larger groups and is a nice place to have an after dinner drink, cigar, and watch a game on their wide screen TV’s. For the cigar connoisseur, they have Cohiba, Behike, Partagas, Montecristo, and Davidoff on hand.

Best Montreal Cigar Lounges

Stogies Cigar Lounge

Stogies is not your father’s cigar lounge. With its sleek design and outdoor seating overlooking the action on Crescent, Stogies is the perfect spot for a group that enjoys the atmosphere more than the actual smoke. Many locals, including some friendly French Canadian girls, visit the lounge before a night out. For the sake of your night though, whatever you do after, go out here instead of Crescent.

Top Tips for large Bachelor Parties in Montreal

Don’t let your Bachelor Party turn into a sausage fest because of poor planning.

If your bachelor party is over 10 people, then it is considered a large group by Montreal bachelor party standards. There is a lot to consider when you’re dealing with a large group if you want things to run smoothly. To help with the process, check out our tried-and-true tips below.

Plan ahead

20130711-144918.jpg
Don’t be this guy.

If you are reading this from your hotel room in Montreal you are probably already screwed. If not, you need to plan ahead. The easiest way to do this is to call us (shameless plug) 1-877-690-4019 and we will take care of everything else. Otherwise, you really need to have a game plan and some reservations in place. unless you like spending a lot of time outdoors you cannot just ‘wing it’ as no place wants a large group of dudes from out of town.

Be a dictator

When dealing with a large group you have to realize that democracy spells disaster. If you want things to go smoothly you have to grow a pair and make the decisions. Tell the group what is what. If you open up the decision making process to everyone you will run in circles, and nothing will get done. We do recommend having one or two key advisors, but at the end of the day you have to call the shots. Let the group know when, where and how much money you need to collect and you will win their hearts and minds. Set deadlines, if people don’t follow them just plan on not having them there. You are the BEST man, act like it!

Collect money up front

20130711-145140.jpg
One of the biggest hurdles of planning any bachelor party is the budget. The larger the group the larger the budgets vary. The key here is to keep the sticker price of the bachelor party as low as possible to get as many people on board, while making it as all-inclusive as possible. Make sure you have all the key costs (hotel, bottles, dinners, transportation) factored into the price. Leave nothing to chance, and never think that you will just collect at the venue from everyone. Trust me, you will get burned 100% of the time if you think everyone will chip an equal share when the bill comes.

Don’t plan too many activities

You are on a bachelor party NOT a bachelorette party. You do not need to make sure there is something to do every 15 min. Overall less is more when dealing with a large group. We suggest zero to one daytime/set activity during the day. Focus more on the nightlife. For the nightlife have one club and strip club set at a minimum for each night.

Why Montreal Strip Clubs Are Better than Las Vegas Strip Clubs

Although Las Vegas might be the most popular bachelor party destination, it is not necessarily the best. Most often our guests love Montreal and the highlight of their trip tends to be the strip clubs. Here are some of the reasons why Montreal strip clubs are better than Las Vegas strip clubs.

Proximity

Unlike Las Vegas, all of the strip clubs here are located in downtown Montreal. Chances are there are a few on the same block as your hotel or probably next to a church. Where as in Vegas, they are huge Costco like structures off of the strip.

No Non-Sense

The strip clubs in Las Vegas take a cue from the casinos and try to confuse the crap out of you in order to empty your wallets. There are multi-levels to every service they offer; VIP rooms, VVIP rooms, Lap dances, Private lap dances, Champagne rooms, VIP champagne rooms, and even sky boxes. At the end of the day they all offer the same thing: naked woman, only difference is the useless title they can up-sell you on.

In Montreal, the only up-sell are the VIP couches, which are actually worth it. The rest is straight forward, they have a main room, alcohol, and strippers. Sorry to disappoint the kids, but they also lack a gift shop.

The Girls

The quality and quantity of the strippers in Montreal is far superior to Vegas. First, there are less girls at the clubs in Montreal. How are less strippers better? Easy, they are less money hungry. In Vegas, there are so many girls working that the competition is fierce. The second you sit down you will be hassled by the endless parade of silicone sharks.

In Montreal, the girls come from the surrounding area, not a shipping container. They are relaxed, younger, and more naive. You will find yourself actually enjoying their company, unlike Vegas where the competition has made them cut throat and dead on the inside.

Value

The cost of visiting a Montreal strip club is far less than going to any strip club in Vegas. Everything is cheaper, including the girls. Lap dances in Montreal are $15 a song vs $25-$50 a song. The dances are a full song not some 3 minute edit. Best of all, the dances are full-contact here (two-hand touch).
