Montreal Bachelor Party Review: 26 Guys From Chicago

The Setup

Last week, we had a bachelor party group that came in from Chicago and the average age of the party was 31. They wanted to have a nice dinner, a boozy brunch, some clubbing thrown into the mix, and your traditional strip club visit for their Montreal bachelor party. They didn’t want anything too out of the ordinary, but the only challenge was the group’s size. 26 is a massive bachelor party. Luckily, we have all of the contacts necessary to pull off accommodating such a large group.

Sousbois

The Plan

The guys originally wanted to tackle their accommodation situation on their own, but we they finally saw the light when we had an opening for them at our 3430 Sainte Famille property. (Click here to see the house brochure.) Here’s a breakdown of their weekend:

-Our (Gold) standard services: host, no cover, no waiting in lines, no tipping for entry, itinerary, no reservations, suggested beer/ activities tour
-House built specifically for bachelor parties in the perfect location. 4 floors, 5 bedrooms, and 4,500 square feet to get crazy
-Supper Club
-Brunch
-Strip Club Visit, 3 Bottles Total
-VIP Table Both Nights, 8 Bottles Total
-5 Party Girls To Break Up The Sausage Fest

Execution

When dealing with such a large group, timing is key. We wanted to make sure the guys had enough free time to not feel like they were on a 8th grade field trip, but enough going on to occupy their time. This way no one in the group will burnout and miss an event or two because they are nursing a wicked hangover from the night before.

Two weeks before the arrival of the bachelor party, we sent over a tentative itinerary that laid out exactly how they weekend would look. We fine tuned some of their itinerary and locked everything down the week of their arrival.

 Recap

I don’t want to get the guys in trouble with their significant other, but what I can say is that the weekend was a great time and went off without any hiccups. Everyone still has their job. No one went to jail. The guys already are planning a boy’s weekend next year…Only difference is they want a lesbian show next time they roll through town. Well played.

Why August Is The Best Month For A Bachelor Party In Montreal

While there is no bad time to have a bachelor party during the summer in Montreal, in our opinion though, August is the best month to come to Montreal. It’s the tail end of summer so the city is not as packed like June and July. There are tons of cool festivals happening every weekend during the month and last, but not least, local universities are back in session. I wonder what that means…

Osheaga

The first weekend of August (August 3-5) is Osheaga, the biggest music festival in Canada. It takes place only a 10 minute Uber ride away at Jean-Drapeau Park. It always brings in big artists and this year is no exception. It also attracts big crowds from all over North America and the world. Many festival goers go out after so clubs are packed this weekend, but we’ll make sure you’re partying with all the big names since we know what clubs they go to and can get you in. Just like Grand Prix Weekend, it brings in incredibly hot girls from all over.

Osheaga Bachelor Party

Île Soniq

Taking place the weekend after Osheaga (August 9-11), Île Soniq is not as popular, but just as fun. It’s crowd is a little different than Osheaga since the festival is more geared towards EDM fans, but usually some of the DJs that played the festival, DJ the clubs at night. We’ll walk you right into these hard to get into spots this weekend and make sure you see a big name DJ if that is your thing.

Montreal Ile Soniq

Tam-Tams

If hanging out and being surrounded by people on copious amount of drugs sounds like somewhere you want to be, then this is your scene. Taking place every Sunday, Tam-Tams is a good place to soak in the sun and sweat out your hangover after brunch.

Montreal Bachelor Party August

PoutineFest

When visiting Montreal, you have to try poutine. PoutineFest has you covered. Taking place in the Old Port from July 31st to August 5th, PoutineFest brings out the best poutine from around the city and country. From foie gras to macaroni to duck poutine, the fest has it all. Grab a few drinks, some poutine, and you got yourself a great afternoon.

Poutine Fest Montreal

College Girls

Finally, hot college girls come back to Montreal with the start of the school year around the corner. Most have nothing to do so you’ll find plenty of them when you go out. Friendly French-Canadian girls are one of Montreal’s best assets.

Montreal Bachelor Party Review: Last Minute 17 Guys From Boston

The Setup

Last week we got a call from a group of 17 guys from Boston that were coming in last minute. The average age of the group was 29 years old. Most of the group had attended another bachelor party a few months earlier, while for some they were popping their bachelor party cherry. Little did they know, Montreal bachelor parties are unique. The group, however, was ready to make this bachelor party epic and were down to get as many strippers, midgets, bottles, and party girls as necessary to make the bachelor party memorable (Something we always love to hear.) There was one big problem though. The group didn’t read any of our tips on where to stay in Montreal (AKA Don’t stay anywhere not named Montreal) and booked an Airbnb 30 minutes away in Brossard. ‘UGE MISTAKE.

Montreal Bachelor Party Review

The Plan

The guys still wanted to stay at the house in Brossard despite us telling them that would ruin the bachelor party. They soon realized their mistake. When they arrived at the Airbnb, they found out that the place was not theirs as advertised, but the host and his family were staying upstairs. The guys immediately called us and last minute we were able to find them a place to stay. They immediately took an Uber back to civilization and never looked back (If we could only tell you what the house cleaners saw..). Here’s what they booked:

-Our (Gold) standard services: host, no cover, no waiting in lines, no tipping for entry, itinerary, no reservations

-House built specifically for bachelor parties in the perfect location. 4 floors, 5 bedrooms, and 4,500 square feet to get crazy

-4 hot, young, impressionable party girls to prevent the ultimate sausage fest

-Bloody Mary Bar

-Girl On Girl Show

-Midget to add to the fun

-VIP Table both nights, 14 bottles total

-Strip Club VIP one night, 3 bottles total

Montreal Bachelor Party Review

Execution

It was pretty crazy getting everything together the same week, but we made it happen. 17 guys is a pretty big group and what club wants to have a giant group of guys show up? None, but more bottles is always the solution. These guys wanted to get rowdy and they got 7 bottles each night. In terms of an itinerary, we try try not to put a lot of events in the same day and we like to spread things out throughout the weekend. For example, we made sure the Blood Mary Bar was towards the end of the weekend to wake the guys up a bit and we even kept it a secret from the bachelor. The guys originally didn’t have a girl on girl show booked, but they soon let their sleazy senses get to them and realized they needed something to make the bachelor party even more memorable.

Recap

Overall, the bachelor party went off without a problem and the guys had a blast. While we can’t get into details, the guys thanked us for saving them from almost making a massive mistake and told us they are already trying to make any excuse to their girlfriends and wives to come back.

Strategies For A Small Bachelor Party

If you are less than 10 guys, you are considered a small bachelor party group (We always say that 5-8 guys is the sweet spot for a bachelor party). There are definitely some pros and cons to a smaller group. On one hand, with a small bachelor party group, you have more options and it’s easier to decide on what you want to do and see. On the other hand, you’re always dealing with different ideas and opinions of what the bachelor party should look like. That’s why we’ve come up with three proven strategies for a successful small bachelor party group:

Get A Bigger House Than Expected

It’s funny how with a big bachelor party group, no one cares if they sleep on the couch. However, when you are with a small bachelor party group, everyone expects their own beds and rooms. It’s important to make the whole group happy because one guy can bring the fun to a halt by complaining all weekend. It’s best to get a bigger house than expected (such as our purpose built houses) so everyone has room to spread out and no one will moan about bunking up with B.O Bob.

Strategies Small Bachelor Party

One Daytime Activity

It doesn’t matter if you are a big or small bachelor party group, you should only plan one daytime activity at most. You came to Montreal for a vacation, not to be held down by a schedule. We suggest leaving most of the day unplanned so you can walk around and see the city. It’s the perfect cover up story for when you return home to the girlfriend or wife.

Small Bachelor Party Strategies

Supper Club

You’re a bachelor party so you are definitely going to head out and see what trouble you can get into. You are also going to want to experience some of the amazing food Montreal has to offer. A supper club offers the best of both worlds. Supper clubs like Sousbois are the perfect place for your group to start the night. It’s a great place to catch up and bond with everyone before they turn down the lights and the night gets crazy. Throw in some party girls and you’ll have yourself one epic night on your hands.

4 Reasons To Stay At A Connected Montreal House

Whether you realize or not, where you stay makes a big difference in making your bachelor party epic. You’ll be spending more time at your house than you initially realize. It’s where you and your crew will meet, recover, and pregame nights out. You’ll want to make sure where you stay is well located and has all of the amenities you need to make your bachelor party weekend memorable. Luckily for you, we have houses that were specifically designed to host bachelor parties. Here are 4 reasons to stay with Connected Montreal:

Location

There’s a joke in Montreal that says you’re always 10 minutes from downtown. Everyone knows that’s not true, especially in summer, due to construction, road closures, and tourists.  We know all of the best spots in Montreal when it comes to clubs and restaurants. All of our houses are either within walking distance or a short Uber ride away from all of the action. You’re in Montreal only for a weekend so you want to maximize your fun and might as well save time and money in the process. Whatever you do, don’t ruin your bachelor party before it even starts by staying off the island

Reasons To Stay Connected Montreal House

Amenities

We know exactly what works and doesn’t work in bachelor party rental houses so we made sure our houses have it all. From pool tables to patio space to 65 inch flat screen TVs, we have everything your bachelor party needs to relax or get crazy. There’s no better way to recap the night before than playing a game of pool with a cold one. Little hard to do at the Holiday Inn Express.

4 Reasons To Stay Connected Montreal

Space

No matter the size of your bachelor party, it’s important to have space. Our houses were built with this mind. They each sleep at least 15 guys and have large, open living rooms for everyone to hangout in. There’s no way you can do this in a hotel where you might have to bunk up with another guy. Also, I’ve never met any girl that’s excited at the possibility of going to some no name motel in the South Shore. Mention the address of one of our houses and most girls already know them because they’ve been. Choose wisely.

4 Reasons To Stay Connected MontrealPrivacy

When you have a bachelor party, it’s important to make it unforgettable. One of our in house shows does the trick. Whether it’s topless beer pong, briskets and breasts, or a lesbian show, we still have yet to have one disappointed customer. All of this can take place in the privacy and comfort of one of our houses. No better way to start a night than boobies and booze.

How To Budget For A Bachelor Party

There’s nothing that can end friendships faster than an argument about money. Throw a bachelor party, a few other guys into the mix, and you have a real life Titanic on your hands. When you’re the guy in charge of planning and hounding the group for money, chances are you don’t know everyone in the group. It’s important to follow these three rules when budgeting for a bachelor party so you don’t end up being hated by the group:

How To Budget Bachelor Party

Be A Dictator

We’re not making a political statement here, but dictators know how to make things happen. When you’re the one planning the bachelor party, you’re in control. It’s important to make sure the group’s interests are taken care of while looking out for your own. The beauty of this is you can sell the group on things you want while saying it’s for the good of the group. For example, you want a girl on girl show and you can take the angle that it will make the bachelor party more memorable. See how to do this? Get what you want, be a dictator.

How To Budget Bachelor Party

Too Many Cooks In The Kitchen

Everyone has their own idea about what they want to see and do. Not enough bottles, too many shows, Matt’s girlfriend won’t let him come if you go to a strip club…Everyone has an opinion. If everyone in the group has input on every decision, nothing will get planned.

You’re the groomsman for a reason. The best way to get around this hassle is to not listen to the haters and don’t ask what people want. Instead, give them a predicted budget and itinerary for them to understand what the weekend is going to look like. You’ll be happy you did, that’s all that matters.

How To Budget Bachelor Party

Initial Deposit

No one wants to be that guy hounding other guys, some you might not even know, for money during the bachelor party. It’s best to get an initial deposit from everyone before the weekend starts so you won’t be on the hook for most of the bill. Remember, Venmo is your friend…Repeat… Venmo is your best friend.

Where NOT To Stay For Your Bachelor Party In Montreal

Montreal is a pretty small city compared to Manhattan or Chicago, but it doesn’t mean every neighborhood is well suited for a bachelor party. We’ve been planning bachelors parties for over a decade now and we know how important being well located is to having an epic bachelor party weekend. Being in the perfect place close to all the bars and clubs not only saves you money on Uber rides and the headache of moving a large group of guys around, but lets girls know you’re not cheap (definitely sleazy) douchebags and they will want to come to your pad for an after party.

Here is where NOT to stay for your bachelor party in Montreal.

Anywhere Off Island

There is no way to sugar coat this one, but if you’re staying off the island, you’re a moron. It’s right up there with not getting bottles at the club. You came to party and have an epic weekend in Montreal, not St. Lambert. Besides ruining your weekend and making the bachelor party a huge sausage fest, staying off island becomes ridiculously expensive and a logistical nightmare taking Uber back and forth with 10 guys.

Good rule of thumb is if there is a bridge, burn it.

Where to stay for your Montreal Bachelors Party

Address doesn’t say Montreal? AVOID.

Postal code not in Montreal? AVOID.

If your Airbnb says that it is in Laval, Brossard, St. Lambert, Dorval, Pointe-Claire, or any place not named Montreal, GET A REFUND.

Easiest thing to know is stay DOWNTOWN. However, a lot of the honorable hosts fudge the location of their places. Use this guide to determine if it’s really a good location. Or if you want just give us a call and we will tell you in 10 seconds if it’s worth booking or not.

Where Not To Stay On Island:

Old Montreal

Old Montreal is a great place to stay if you were, for example, a couple in their 80’s taking in the French architecture. Luckily, you’re not. You are a bachelors party. This district of Montreal is EXTREMELY touristy during the day and is considered more family friendly.  Walk around the area before you go to a supper club, fine, but take the party elsewhere.

Old Montreal Boundaries:

-South: St.Lawrence River                           East: Berri Street

-North: St. Antoine Street                           West: McGill Street

Gay Village

If you walk far enough east on St.Catherine, it turns into the gay village and if you walk into the strip clubs in that part of Montreal, you won’t see women stripping. It’s easy to see why this is the wrong area to stay for a bachelor party…

Gay Village Boundaries:

-South: Rene Levesque Boulevard              East: Papineau Street

-North: Ontario Street                                 West: Berri Street

Boutique Hotel

We get groups every year that book a suite or block of rooms at any hotel and end up getting kicked out. Why? Because a lot of hotels, boutique especially, don’t allow bachelor parties. They’re great for a weekend get away with your future ex-wife, but awful for bachelor parties. Don’t worry though, we’ve vetted all hotels that we work with and make sure they are bachelor party friendly. Just use as it chance to scout out places to stay on your return trip to Montreal for your divorce party.

Anywhere Outside Downtown Core

There’s a lot happening in Montreal during the summer…but that brings traffic. The joke in Montreal is that you are always 10 minutes from downtown, but everyone knows that is not the case. There are festivals every weekend that close roads and construction detours all over the city. Who wants to waste hours waiting in traffic when you can be making it rain at Kamasutra within minutes? Unlike other big cities in North America, where it costs a fortune to be anywhere near downtown, in Montreal, you can be centrally located and have it be affordable (Check out what houses we have available)
