The Pros And Cons Of Throwing The Bachelor On Stage

If you come to Montreal on a bachelor party, stopping at a strip club is a necessary adventure. It’s fun for the whole group and you might even call it a bonding experience. There’s nothing quite like getting a lap dance from the same stripper and comparing notes with your buddy…Regardless, putting the bachelor on stage at the strip club and having various strippers humiliate him is always an option. It’s a great choice for some bachelor parties, while for others it could ruin the night. Here’s the pros and cons of throwing the bachelor on stage for a strip club show:

Strip Club Show

Pros:

It’s A Good Time

We all know that a bachelor party is never about the bachelor himself, but rather about the other guys on the trip. Seeing the bachelor get degraded and spanked on stage is hilarious to see for the rest of the guys. It’s always great for groups that like a bit more attention from the strippers or don’t take themselves too seriously.

Some Bachelors Enjoy The Attention

While we do offer a dominatrix show, this is the next best thing for those bachelors that are secretly masochists and like to be roughed up a bit. Who knows maybe they’ll discover something new about themselves…You can thank us later. There are bachelors that like to be the star of the show and this is the best way to get all of the attention in the strip club.

Memorable Send Off

Putting the bachelor on stage is certainly a memorable experience to say bye to his single years. He won’t forget his time on stage and it will give you some fond memories to reminisce about until his divorce party in 5 years.

Strip Club Show

Cons:

Unwanted Surprise

Anytime you throw the bachelor on stage, it’s a surprise (or just get him drunk enough..) Either way, it’s a bold move that could backfire tremendously. The bachelor may feel uncomfortable, but in our opinion, that’s the point of the bachelor party. He may not talk to you for the rest of the weekend, but that’s what true friends are for.

Wife’s Pissed

Whatever you do, make sure there is no evidence of the show if his fiancé is crazy. We’ve had a few women call us up about their man’s bachelor party and we tell them they have nothing to worry about…If there is evidence, you guys better have your stories straight. The pictures last a little longer than that handprint on the bachelor’s ass.

Tacky

Sure, we get it…Throwing the bachelor on stage is tacky, but that’s why we love it. It’s one of those traditional bachelor party activities that just completes the weekend. Besides, you’re not from Montreal, so tell the strippers you’re a porn star and make a fool of yourself. If you guys are all tightwads, take 30 minutes just to put gel in your hair, and enjoy staring at each other than putting the bachelor on stage is not for you. Otherwise, get ready for a good laugh.

Best Fall Day Drinking Spots In Montreal

As long as alcohol has been around, people enjoy consuming booze at different hours during the day and night. The whole point of a bachelor party is to be as drunk as possible for as long as possible throughout the weekend. Montreal day drinking is a must. Although we have sadly bid farewell to summer 2018 and have already laid out the best day drinking bars in Old Montreal, here are 5 of our favorite fall drinking spots in Montreal:

Vices And Versa

If you are rolling with a group of beer snobs, Vices and Versa is the bar that you need to head to. With a dizzying selection of local Québec craft brews and hard to find European beers all written on a hipster approved chalkboard, the bar is a great place to kick back and relax with your crew. If you want some sophisticated eats with your regional beers, get the charcuterie and cheese plate. No better way to experience Montreal than being a classy drunk.

Fall Day Drinking

Siboire

Much like Vices and Versa, Siboire offers delicious regional brews. They often rotate their beers every week so the selection is superb. What we like about Siboire and what they are known for is their beer flights. You can try up to 6 small sample sizes of the beers of your choosing. Pair this with their fish and chips while watching the Habs game on their giant flatscreen TVs.

Siboire Fall Day Drinking

Dieu Du Ciel

This is a great Montreal day drinking spot! Across the street from Siboire is the shining star in Montreal’s craft beer scene. Dieu Du Ciel has consistently been ranked as one of the best breweries in Canada. They are known for their classic, freshly brewed Péché Mortal Bourbon, which has been voted one of best craft beers in the world. The only downside is that there food menu is lacking so grab some lunch ahead of time.

Dieu Du Ciel Day Drinking

Benelux

This a classic bachelor party spot and it is the perfect spot to kick off any drunken daytime adventure in Montreal. With its central downtown location right on Sherbrooke Street, it is a great bar to throw some party girls into the mix (We can also set up a college girl pub crawl if you want us to do the work for you!). Be sure to try their IPAs (Our favorite is their West Coast IPA). With its close location to all the universities, it’s ideal for meeting a few local hotties.

Benelux

Le Sainte-Élisabeth

Le Sainte-Élisabeth is definitely a hidden gem. You might never find this place on a small street off of Saint-Catherine Street, but it’s well worth making the trip. It’s got something for everyone from your beer belly Bud Light drinkers to elegant, dressed up European beers like Delirium. It’s more of a down and dirty drinking spot compared to your fancier craft beer spots that we previously mentioned. A nice bonus is that the bartenders are hot, French Canadian girls. No better time to practice your 10th grade French after a few drinks.

Best Montreal Supper Clubs In 2018

Supper clubs are found in other cities, but nowhere does supper clubs like Montreal. For those of you that have never heard of a Montreal supper club, they are eateries during the evening that turn into full blown nightclubs after dinner is served. They are consistently some of the best places in Montreal to party. How could they not be? With a great mix of delicious food, model hot girls, bottles, and the fact that you don’t even have to leave to go party, it’s no wonder reservations are nearly impossible to get. Luckily, with our connections, you won’t have that problem. Here’s the best Montreal supper clubs to check out in 2018:

Bord’elle

Leading the resurgence of the Old Port, Bord’elle is a great option for a more sophisticated group. Modeled after a 1920’s speakeasy, the food is incredible. We recommend you try their Filet Mignon in a VSOP cognac glaze, but there is nothing we don’t like on the menu. Once the clock strikes midnight, Bord’elle comes alive and the champagne starts flowing. If you head to this club, be prepared for a rowdy time. It is one of the best places to party on Thursday nights and is a go to spot jump off point for our groups that think they can handle 3 massive nights of partying…To them, we say good luck. Bord’elle will give you all you can handle and than some!

Bord'elle Montreal 2018

Soubois

Soubois, French for “Underground Forest”, is the perfect spot for those that care more about the scenery than the food. For starters, the space is unique and looks like you are surrounded by trees. It’s a nice touch, but you didn’t come for the interior design. The food is good, but their very hot waitresses steal the show. Consider it a practice round for you and your buddies to get warmed up talking to locals. Soubois is a solid spot on Friday, but is reliably great on Saturday.

Sousbois Montreal 2018

Flyjin

Located down the street from Bord’elle in the Old Port, Flyjin is a smaller, more intimate supper club. Their menu was created by renowned, international chef Antonio Park. The miso black cod is to die for. Unfortunately, this club only works best with groups of 10 or less since anything above that, your group would be 10-20% capacity of the club. What club wants a good portion of their clientele that night to be guys? None. (Of course, we could always tip the scale in your favor if you bring along some party girls..)

Flyjin Montreal 2018

Joverse

This laid back, casual supper club is ideal for larger groups or for guys that don’t want something too fancy. It’s not as pretentious as some of the other supper clubs that were previously mentioned. It’s a great place to party with less crowds and is more relaxed. The crowd tends to skew a bit younger, which means hot, impressionable girls so we generally recommend Joverse for groups that are more budget conscious, but still want to ball out during their time in Montreal.

Montreal Trip Review: Little people, Big fun

The bachelor party review you are about to read is true: names have been changed to protect the innocent. Enjoy the recap of this wild Montreal trip.

The Call

picture James (fake name) called me a few weeks ago and told me that he was coming to Montreal  from New York for his best buddy’s bachelor party and like any best man he wanted to make it memorable.  The main issue James had was that everyone was in or just out of med school and that the funds were tight.  I assured James that we can make a bachelor party crazy on any budget, guiding him where and where not to spend.

The setup

pictureThe first place I was able to save James some coin was by setting them up at a 3 star hotel. The package I built for them included rooms at the Holiday Inn Express Downtown. Wait, I know what you’re thinking, that’s ghetto. At first glance, it may seem that way but this particular Holiday Inn Express is a few blocks from the nightlife. All the rooms are studio suites meaning there is a kitchen, 2 beds and a pull out couch, making it one of the best choices for sleeping 4 people comfortably on a tight budget. Overall, this hotel in Montreal is a great choice if your group does not demand a 4 star or better. By placing James here I was able to free up some cap room for the festivities.

Lesbians

pictureWhile James and his buddies did do the typical strip clubs and night clubs with bottle service (Bottle service is a must at least one of the nights) they wanted something over the top.  I always try to encourage our guests to get a lesbian show at their hotel. It easily becomes the centre piece of the weekend and is something people always remember fondly. We hand pick the girls ourselves (our interview process) and deliver a show unlike any other.

I sent them the two beauties.  Needless to say, James and his buddies were slapping me high fives with huge grins on their face after the show. Best of all, the price of a full blown lesbian show breaks down price wise to same as a couple lap dances per person, offering more bang for your buck.

Bring in the Big Guns

pictureAfter the show I set the guys up at Buona Notte one of the hottest supper clubs in Montreal. This place is where celebrities and the big boys go to party. The waitresses are all model hot and get real attention. Patrons here are used to popping multiple bottles and trying to out do the table next to them. While in a few years, James and his buddies will be able to order the bottles of Cristal (like our Grand Prix clients) to get attention, they did hire the right guy for the job. We opened the Connected tool chest and brought out our secret weapon : Harry The Midget.

pictureHarry is our little person friend who parties like a rock star. He’s better than any magnum of Cristal you can buy, guaranteed. If you really want to pickup or get attention include a midget bartender in your package!  For less than a price of a few bottles, Harry is up on the table dancing and pouring drinks for the boys.  EVERYONE notices, instantly we became the center of attention at the hottest nightclub in Montreal. Girls flocked to our table all wanting to take pictures with Harry and the cold model-like waitresses came over and partied with us all night. Everyone had more girls around them then they knew what to do with.

It does not matter how small your budget is, we will makes sure you guys have the time of your lives. Give us a call 1-877-690-4919  and we will take care of the rest.

Montreal Grand Prix: Go Big or Come Another Weekend

The Canadian Grand Prix in Montreal is the biggest weekend of the year. The nightlife scene for F1 is beyond insane to the point where the festivities become the focal point of the weekend. If you are not coming for the race or with a large budget then it’s best to schedule your trip for another weekend. However if you are, here are some of the most important things to know for Montreal Grand Prix:

1.  F1 is expensivepicture

Aside from the $500 race tickets everything over Montreal Grand Prix weekend is very expensive. Formula 1 and its parties attract high rollers from all over the world. Basic hotel rooms sell for 400-500$ per night and bottles at the clubs double in cost. With our expertise you can find some value in all of the craziness, however this is not the weekend for deal seekers.

2. Hotelspicture

Many of the hotels make 30-50% of their yearly revenue during Grand Prix weekend. This means that room rates are 2-3x more expensive than the usual high season rates. All of the best hotels demand a minimum 3-night booking along with a non-refundable payment in full. It is also very important to note that downtown hotels start selling out as early as February!

3. Restaurants and Clubs are slammed.picture

The best clubs for Grand Prix weekend are located on the St. Laurent strip and in the Old Port. Three of Montreal’s major streets are closed for the weekend (Crescent street, Peel street, and Saint Laurent Blvd) and the clubs and restaurants extend their patios onto the streets. The supper clubs are the crown jewel of the F1 nightlife. This is where you will see a mix of drivers, celebrities, and beautiful people go to party. Supper clubs notoriously overbook during F1 weekend, which is the least of your problems, because line-ups get so long that you can’t even get to the hostess in the first place. It is not uncommon for people with reservations to either get bumped to a horrible table or not get in at all.

4. The Montreal Grand Prix is the time of your life.picture

The high prices, expensive hotels, and limited availability all pale in comparison to the spectacle that is Grand Prix weekend. Simply put, it is the best weekend one can have if done right. We have the best connections year round in Montreal and we especially flex our pull on this particular weekend. We personally know the owners and managers at all the best places and ride them worse than their girlfriends/wives/mistresses to ensure our guests don’t have to wait in line and get the best tables at the best spots. The last three years we have been drinking champagne with the drivers at the best parties. Why not join us? Our Montreal grand prix packages will ensure your party will never get stuck in the pits.

 Call 1-877-690-4919

But don’t take my word for it:

“Oren and Rod are real pros–well connected, knowledgeable and professional. I’ve used them three times to arrange a high-end Grand Prix experience in Montreal, and they have delivered in every way. Great hotel and great tickets to the race, but what really sets them apart is their knowledge of the restaurant scene and nightlife in Montreal. We ate at the most in-demand restaurants and partied at the hottest clubs. With these guys, there’s no waiting in lines. It’s straight-to-the-front, VIP service. People were wondering who we were to walk right past the long line of people who had “reservations” to dine and party with the likes of Jenson Button (who’d won the GPC earlier that day!), Jessie Palmer and Rihanna!  Oren and Rod have got this town wired. I wouldn’t consider working with anyone else to plan an unforgettable experience.”

How to Drink in Montreal (when over 30) and Survive the Weekend

Lets face it we are no longer in our early 20s, (If you are, then skip this article and go to bed with as many women as you can while abusing your body as much as possible) we can’t drink insane amounts of alcohol multiple nights in a row. We see it time and time again, clients’ multiple night bachelor parties start off with a bang and by the next day half can’t make it out of bed. Their second taste of Montreal nightlife bottles at the club turns into a night of room service and PPV at the hotel.

As someone who drinks on the job, I’ll give you some (legal) tips to make sure you make it through the entire bachelor party:

 Don’t Start Drinking Too Early

I’ve seen this scenario play out too many times: a group checks into the hotel and heads straight to the hotel bar and starts pounding drinks. While some people can pace themselves, most can’t. I also find that drinking and then stopping is one of the worst things you can do. Don’t be the guy they have to throw in the cab or the guy who can’t make it out of bed!

Say No to Shots before Midnight

Shots always seem like a good idea, however the purpose of shots is to get you drunk as fast as possible. Why else do you always order shots when girls are around? Save the shots till midnight for girls that don’t know any better.

Vodka Soda Is Your New Best Friend

It’s not just for women with eating disorders, it’s for pros. Look at anyone who works in the nightlife industry and tell me what they drink. Vodka soda. Vodka tends to make you the least hungover and the club soda helps hydrate you. Granted none of this is backed up by science.

Sleep In and Get Your Own Bed

Sleep is important to you and your group. I strongly advise against any activities prior to 11AM the next day. The less planned, the better (However, these daytime activities will help make the bachelor party more memorable.). Also, if your group has decent funds (i.e an extra $50-100), try to book double occupancy. When you are in bed hungover, you will be glad you have your own bed, unless you prefer to get “dutch ovened”.

Stash the Room with Hangover Supplies BEFORE Going Out

All reason and logic goes out the window when you are drunk (luckily for my sex life, this applies to women too), therefore stock the room with all the hangover aids and essentials (tons of water/Gatorade/coconut water, B vitamins, Tylenol, etc.) before going out. Or if you prefer, we can do it for you with our Rider Services.

Thursday or Sunday Better for a Bachelor Party in Montreal?

While a two night visit is the most common option for a Montreal bachelor party, a lot of people do stay for three nights. Many of my clients over the years have asked me, “Is it better to come in on a Thursday or stay for a Sunday? Here are the pros and cons of each option along with a list of things to do.

Thursdays

pictureThursday tends to be the popular choice as it gives people an extra day to get into town and to settle in. A lot of people like to ease into the festivities. Thursday is also a great night for Bord’elle and/or visiting a strip club or two.

Pros

  • Arrive a day early and ease into the swing of things
  • Ideal for groups with people coming from all over the place
  • Thursday is the night forBord’elle
  • Great night for strip clubs as there are less tourists

Cons

  • No really good night clubs are open
  • Things are not as crazy since it’s a “school night”

Sundays

pictureWhile it is not the most popular choice, Sundays can be ideal for a bachelor party. In the summer, the mountain comes alive on Sunday as a lot of people head to the Tams to hangout and get high. Sunday is also Industry Night so you can party with all the waitresses, bartenders, and strippers you supported that weekend. However, if you group is older, most of you will be pretty wiped out. We do throw the best bachelor parties in town so don’t expect an easy recovery.

Pros

  • Tams on Mount Royal (summer only)
  • Industry Night

Cons

  • You will probably be too hungover to do anything by the time Sunday rolls around

Montreal Bachelor Party Hotels: The W

Montreal Bachelor Party Hotel Spotlight: The W Hotel

At Connected Montreal, we’re always looking for the best when it comes to bachelor parties in our city. As we have mentioned countless times, a good bachelor party hotel could make or break your whole weekend in Montreal. This brings us to the über-cool W Hotel.

Why We Love the W Hotel.

picture The hotel is located in the heart of the city, sandwiched between Old Montreal and the downtown core. Upon walking in, you instantly feel the laid back vibe. It is definitely the one of the coolest hotels in Montreal. They cater to a noticeably younger and hipper clientele, so you will not feel out of place celebrating your bachelor party here. The hotel’s motto is “whatever you want, whenever you want,” and on many occasions, during a bachelor party weekend in Montreal, this has definitely come in handy.

 Rooms And Suites.

Extreme Wow SuitepictureThe importance of getting a suite for a bachelor party weekend is second to none. The W hotel’s Extreme Wow Suite could, arguably, be the best in the city. With a huge terrace and ample room, it is definitely the right spot to kick off OR end an evening. We have great rates on this suite.
Wow SuitepictureIf you’re looking for something super cool, but don’t have the budget for the Extreme Wow, then look no further than the Wow Suite. It is set on two floors and has its own private terrace: this suite – and its price – will definitely impress.
Mega Double RoompictureThe hotel has a limited supply of double rooms, but they will more than suffice if you’re on a tighter budget and don’t mind bunking up with another member of your bachelor party. These rooms still stay true to the cool vibe given off by the W Hotel and you definitely won’t be disappointed.

Plateau Lounge and The Wunderbar

The hotel has two options for drinking. First, the Plateau Lounge is the kind of hotel bar that gets busy after the workday is over and stays busy up until dinner. Second, the hotel club, Wunderbar, is a great option if you want to stay in the comfort of your hotel to party. The club might not be the biggest in the city, but it’ll do the job if you’re looking for convenience close to home.

If you are planning a bachelor party in Montreal and truly want a hotel with the best in style and luxury, then look no further than the W.

Top VIP Service Scams in Montreal

Rod and I both have hosted more bachelor parties than anyone in Montreal. We have also worked for other so-called “VIP services” and have seen every trick and scam out there. Know what to expect by learning the  biggest Montreal VIP service scams.

 Special Grade Packages

pictureWe may get death threats over this one but… be wary of anyone selling different grades of service from “Elite VIP”, Platinum Exclusive, to Princess-Cut packages. Whatever the name, they are all BS and offer the exact same service just have twice (sometimes 3-4 times) the mark-up. All the features and services are just given jazzed up names, unless they can tell you exactly what is the difference between “Premium VIP Entry” and “VIP Entry”. All you are doing is bidding against yourself. You might as well have them throw in free rust-proofing for you.

I know what you are thinking, “but wait, you guys sell three different levels of bachelor party packages too!?!” Yes, but all of our packages are starting points as everything we do is custom. The difference in price represents the number of bottles and add-ons, such as a private show at your hotel.

 Guarantees or Licenses

This is a recent, but classic scam. Truth is, the guarantee is pretty much worthless. Why else would they have 4 pages of legal behind it? As for the “we are the only licensed operator”, the “license” they are boasting allows them to sell services to Quebec residents. Unless you really think that there’s a bachelor party licensing board. You need to look at what’s being represented. There is a reason the other companies hide their faces, prices, and other basic information.

 VIP to Multiple Night Clubs

pictureNo good nightclub will let large groups of guys (from out of town) into their club without buying bottles. Anyone who has been clubbing in any metropolitan area knows this. So, “VIP to multiple nightclubs” is a blatant lie. We get it right the first time. What is often done is you are told you will be setup at multiple nightclubs and when you want to switch it up you will be told how many extra bottles you will need to buy. This is not a fun situation when you have a drunken pack of guys. While we will have multiple backup options, don’t club hop unless you need to. Club hopping is a terrible idea.

Using the Term VIP for Anything

picture As we have outlined in previous posts, VIP is one of the biggest inside jokes in the Montreal nightlife scene. There are countless providers offering VIP passes for people to go wait in a VIP line that is usually longer than the regular line. In fact, no decent club in Montreal has a VIP room: bottle service and tables aren’t segregated to special rooms/sections. Montreal strip clubs are the only exception, which offer VIP couches.

Honestly, how “VIP” are you if you also plan bachelorette parties, corporate events, spring break trips and romantic getaways. We only do packages for men. If you are calling yourself a VIP, you are calling attention to the fact that you are not a VIP. With Connected Montreal, you receive the highest level of service. We are the most experienced and trusted bachelor party planners in the game. That’s why we proudly display our ugly mugs!  Make sure you don’t get fooled planning your weekend with the guys and contact us at 1.877.690.4919.
