Montreal Nightclubs Vs. Las Vegas Nightclubs

Montreal and Las Vegas are some of the best cities in North America to have a bachelor party. Each city appeals to a different type of bachelor party. You don’t have to be a party animal to know that Montreal nightclubs are different than Las Vegas nightclubs. Beyond the obvious differences between the two cities such as size and weather, Montreal and Las Vegas each have their respective nightlife strengths and weaknesses. Here’s a look at the differences between Montreal and Las Vegas nightclubs:

Quality

Vegas is known for its nightlife because frankly there is nothing else to do in the middle of desert. It is home to arguably some of the best nightclubs in the world. From 1Oak to Marquee to Hakkasan, it’s easy to find whatever type of club you are looking for in Vegas. However, with this reputation, comes pretentious douchebags and long lines. Montreal’s nightlife, on the other hand, is underrated and often people are surprised at how good Montreal’s nightclubs are. La Voute and Bord’elle are two of the best and within walking distance of each other. Club goers are laid back and French Canadian girls  are very “friendly”.

VIP

Montreal has everything that is great about VIP without the show that Vegas has. In Vegas, you have people crowding around your table, slower table service, and you have to pay more money for a better location. Everything about VIP in Vegas is about who can spend more money. Montreal is more relaxed. It’s a city where clubbing is all about getting a table and bottles. If you’re not getting bottle service, you’re doing it wrong. You’ll still enjoy the benefits of VIP like status and location in Montreal with bottles, but there’s no specific reserved VIP section like Vegas.

Price

When it comes to costs, Montreal blows Vegas out of the water. It’d be difficult for a bachelor party to spend under a $1,000…just to get their foot in the door in Vegas. You’ll find it hard to get in anywhere with a big group of guys. Montreal is a different story. You can have an epic weekend with a $1,000 budget. Considering a bottle is only $250, going out in Montreal is reasonable. Oh, and we’ll make sure you get in to the best clubs in the city…with a group of hot, young, and impressionable party girls. Sounds a lot better than the sausage fest you’d roll up to the club with in Vegas.

Host Feature: Dirty Mike

Mike, AKA Dirty Mike, has been a host for three years now. The veteran knows Montreal like the back of his hand and always makes sure that his groups are drunk and have seen plenty of T&A before midnight. Today, in honor of Dirty Mike’s birthday, we are doing a special feature on him so you can get to know him better and just like that stripper at Chez Parée, you’ll want to tip him an outrageous amount.

Favorite Drink

Cuba Libre

Favorite Club/Bar

McLean’s Pub. Ask for Stewart and he’ll hook you up with his 10 Liter Beer towers.

Favorite Strip Club

Hands down Kamasutra because of the intimate atmosphere. No seat is a bad seat and the talent is great.

Favorite Place To Eat

Moishes. They have an incredible after 9 PM special menu. You can get an appetizer and entree for $25. You can’t beat that.

Favorite Stripper Activity

Girl On Girl Show. The reactions on every guy’s face is priceless.

Hangover Food Of Choice

Poutine. It’s a classic Montreal food staple that, like a fat girl show, everyone has to try at least one. I’ve seen poutine work wonders and revive those that were struggling from a long night.

Best Hosting Story

I had a crazy group of Marines come to Montreal from California for a boy’s weekend full of debauchery. They were already drunk and rowdy as they got off the plane. One of the guys in the group lost their bag, but replaced it with something more fun. While standing in line waiting for his lost bag, the marine got chatting with a girl who had lost her bag too. The backpacker girl had just gotten back from Thailand and since she lost her bag, she didn’t have any clothes with her. The guys ended up inviting the backpacker girl to their place and needless to say, she became part of the group in more than one way.The guys returned last year because they had so much fun. Those guys were party legends. God bless the United States Marine Corps.

The Worst Value For Your Bachelor Party In Montreal

There are things you can do to enhance your bachelor party…or make it awful. We’ve been planning bachelor parties for far too long so we know what works and what doesn’t. Following up on our post about the best value for your bachelor party, here is the WORST value for your bachelor party in Montreal.

Stack The Day Too Heavy

You guys are a bachelor party, not a school group. There is no reason to plan out every second of the day especially if you go out the night before. You should leave most of your day unplanned. Don’t fill your day with activities that will drain you and leave you tired before going out at night. At most, do one daytime activity such as axe throwing or white water rafting. You’ll thank us later.

Worst Value Bachelor Party

Limos

Limos might have been cool for your senior prom, but not now. Montreal is pretty small and if you stay here, you’ll be set. All of the best bars, clubs, and restaurants will be within walking distance. If, for some reason, you need to go somewhere further, pile everyone into an Uber. Welcome to the 21st Century.

Not Getting Bottle Service

If you’re not getting bottle service, you might as well not go clubbing. Not getting bottle service is one of the biggest mistakes you can make for your bachelor party.  No matter the size of your bachelor party, having a table is essential. Unlike most cities (Looking at you, Vegas), getting bottle service in Montreal is cost effective. If you don’t get bottle service, you’ll have to fight with everyone else to get to the bar, wait for a drink, and lose your group. Beyond cost, getting bottle service allows for your group to be seen and have a piece of prime real estate in the club. Don’t be an idiot, get bottle service (LINK TO PACKAGES).

Going To Schwartz’s

Trying smoked meat in Montreal is a must, but standing in line for 2 hours is a terrible waste of time. There is always a massive line at Schwartz’s and cramming 10 guys in there is nearly impossible. The better option is to get Brisket and Breasts, where you get Schwartz’s smoked meat delivered straight to you piping hot served fresh by topless girls. We have yet to have a disappointed customer.

Five Montreal Restaurants for Gluttons

Montreal is a city of great food. There are a lot of amazing restaurants and deliciously dishes, but if you’re a glutton, I would suggest checking out one of these Montreal restaurants.

Best Gastronomy: Au Pied de Cochon

Au Pied de Cochon is somewhat of a legend in Montreal. They have a unique menu of foie gras and other delicacies, but in hungry portions. Their particularly Canadian foie gras poutine is probably the most gluttonous meal you can get and is understandably a must-try. This restaurant actually has a defibrillator on site and their staff is trained in CPR. This place should definitely be taken seriously.

Best Cultural Feast: Le Milsa

This place is an all you can eat Brazilian barbecue joint. They have about 10 varieties of meat that they bring around to your table until you regretfully can’t eat anymore. It’s a great place to bring a big group of guys but not so great for vegetarians. Sometimes they bring out some Samba dancers. It’s an all around party for gluttons and you will probably have a hard time leaving this restaurant.

Best All You Can Eat: Poutineville

Let’s start off by saying the obvious: there is a lot of great poutine in Montreal. Everyone has their own take on it – more gravy, bigger cheese curds, crispier french fries – but there’s one place in town that consistently serves amazing, yet classic poutine. Poutineville is the place. They also allow you to create your own personal poutine. But honestly, that’s not the best part. Especially for those masochistic gluttons out there, Tuesdays are now all you can eat poutine nights. This is definitely one of the top things to do in Montreal for a tourist.

Best Casual Stuffing: Rotisserie Romados

Portuguese chicken has been perfected at Romados. Their portions are very generous and, once you get to the chicken under the mountain of delicious french fries, you will understand how chicken is supposed to taste. This family run joint has been around for years and is an institution in and of itself. There will always be a line (but you can order ahead) and it’s a lot more take-out friendly but there are a few tables in the place. On Sundays, you can take the chicken to go and eat it at Tam Tams not far off. Let me tell you, this place is worth it.

Best Hangover Cure: Ruby Rouge

For those of you who have never experienced dim sum before, think Chinese tapas usually served for brunch. As people come around with their carts filled with dumplings and various fried dishes, you get to scoop up anything you want and instantly enjoy it. You can even dare a friend to eat a fried chicken foot or another one of the more exotic dishes. I am at Ruby Rouge every Sunday and, believe me, this is as close to a hangover cure as you’re going to get. You know it’s good when you are one of the only white guys in the place. Also, it’s dirt cheap.
