Old Montreal, also known as the Old Port to locals, is well known to known to your significant other with its French architecture and charming cobblestone streets, but it is surprisingly a great area for a bachelor party to go bar hopping during the day. It has a good mix of different bars from trendy, upscale cocktail lounges to beer and shot dive bars. Here are bars worth checking out for your next day drinking adventure in Old Montreal 

Any  Bar With A Terrasse

First and foremost, if you do any day drinking in Montreal and the sun is out, you need to head to a terrasse (Terrasse= Patio). You’ll notice every local is outside trying to soak up as much sun as possible. Pretty much every bar in Old Montreal is open during the day and has a terrasse. While you can’t go wrong with any terrasse in the Old Port, we’d recommend going to Terrasse Nelligan. It offers incredible views of Montreal’s skyline and the nearby St. Lawrence River. Nelligan is a place to see and be seen since the crowd tends to skew towards their mid to late 20’s. If you want an even more upscale experience that attracts hot, local girls, head to Terrasse Bonsecours. During the week, Bonsecours is a more laid back drinking spot, but turns into an open-air party on the weekends. You really can’t go wrong with either of these terrasses.

SeaSalt & Ceviche Bar

One of the newer bars in Old Montreal, SeaSalt has quickly made an impression in its first two years of operation. The restaurant is huge so it can easily hold your entire bachelor party. The drink menu is unique and is filled with some interesting options. They are known for their sangria, which pairs nicely with any of their seafood options, but especially the ceviche. SeaSalt brings in a DJ on the weekend so it’s the perfect spot to get drinks before heading to dinner.

Pub St. Paul

If grabbing pitchers of beer sounds more like your scene, this is your bar. Pub St. Paul may seem out of place in Old Montreal, but is a welcomed respite from the continued opening of trendy cocktail lounges. The bar isn’t going to blow you away with its decoration or drink options, but it’s a great place to hang out with your buddies and grab some drinks. It comes complete with pool tables and flatscreen TVs so it’s a solid option to drink at once the bachelor’s alma mater is playing on Saturdays.

Les 3 Brasseurs

Yes, we know Les 3 Brasseurs is a chain microbrewery/ restaurant, but if we hadn’t mentioned that, you’d have no idea. The cool thing about Les 3 Brasseurs is that they brew beer specifically for the neighborhood they are located in. In the Old Port, that means that they have a beer dedicated to Old Montreal’s export-import history. Order a beer flight if you want to try a variety of beer offerings. It’s a good place to get annoyingly drunk and have good bar food before stumbling around the city or going to party.
