The Best Montreal Sports Bars

No matter what time of year you come to Montreal for a bachelor party there will always be a “Big Game” on. There is no better way to kill a couple hours while drinking and eating. Montreal is only beginning to understand the value in awesome sports bars, check out these places and never miss a play, just don’t cheer against the Montreal Canadiens unless you’re looking for a fight.

Champs[image_frame width=150 height=150 pattern=”dotted” align=”right”]https://connectedmtl.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/Montreal-sports-bar-Champs.jpg[/image_frame]

Champs is the oldest sports bar on this list, and you can tell by the décor upon walking in. Champs has that old school sports bar charm. It’s located on the Saint-Laurent strip near Schwartz’s. If there’s an obscure game on TV, Champs will have it for your viewing pleasure. Champs is probably one of the busiest sports bar in Montreal, and there is no better place to watch a prize fight.

Station des Sports[image_frame width=150 height=150 pattern=”dotted” align=”right”]https://connectedmtl.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/Montreal-sports-bar-Station-des-sports.jpg[/image_frame]

If you’re looking for bargain basement prices while watching the big game at a Montreal sports bar, look no further than Station des Sports. The food is passable as long as you want a burger, wings, or anything deep fried. They have a limited selection of games, so if the game is airing on ESPN2 don’t even bother heading there. We are pretty positive they don’t have a satellite sports package. What we do like about ”Station” is that it’s generally pretty full, they have an enormous front and back patio (great for summer), as well as Tap tables that let you pour your own beers without leaving the convenience of your seat.

Address: 2051 Saint-Catherine Ouest

Chez Serge[image_frame width=150 height=150 pattern=”dotted” align=”right”]https://connectedmtl.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/Montreal-sports-bar-Chez-serge.jpg[/image_frame]

Part of the same group that owns Candi Bar, Chez Serge strictly airs only Montreal Canadiens hockey games. So if you’re ok with watching the “Habs” play then you won’t find a more fun sports bar. First off, the wait staff is all female, they have an extensive drink menu, tall boy beers, funnels and even a mechanical bull! The waitresses dance on the bar between periods and the place is guaranteed to be packed. Even if there is not a game on the bar is fun place to drink/eat.

La Cage aux Sports[image_frame width=150 height=150 pattern=”dotted” align=”right”]https://connectedmtl.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/Montreal-sports-bar-cage-aux-sports.jpg[/image_frame]

We don’t like La Cage aux Sports, but if you are staying close to one, and need to watch a game, this place will suffice. They have a terrible selection of games and aren’t keen on looking for something that isn’t already playing on their screens. Like most Montreal sports bars, if the Canadiens are playing on the same night, we wish you good luck watching anything else.

Factory[image_frame width=150 height=150 pattern=”dotted” align=”right”]https://connectedmtl.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/Montreal-sports-bar-Factory.jpg[/image_frame]

If you have dinner reservations at one of the supper clubs on Saint-Laurent but want to catch some of the big game beforehand, head over to Factory. It’s always a hit or miss whether the place will be busy, but they do have screens absolutely everywhere. The convenience and proximity of Factory make it an ideal sports bar to head to during your stay in Montreal.

Peel Pub[image_frame width=150 height=150 pattern=”dotted” align=”right”]https://connectedmtl.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/Montreal-sports-bar-Peel-pub.jpg[/image_frame]

Welcome to one of the biggest college bars in Montreal. Chances are you or your buddy went here when you visited Montreal in 1998. You will feel old coming here, even if you’re 20. Very cheap food, even cheaper bathtubs of beer, a second floor patio upstairs, and TV’s everywhere. If you want something in proximity to Chez Paree or le centre Sheraton then this is your place.
