28 Dec The Best Montreal Late Night Restaurants
Here at Connected Montreal, we’re not only pros at organizing the best bachelor parties in Montreal, but we also love to drink and eat. We follow a very simple weekend formula: go out, have far too many drinks, then hit one of the best Montreal late night restaurants. While we’ve always believed that stuffing our faces after a hard night of boozing is scientifically proven to reduce a hangover, we now seem to enjoy the congregation of drunken idiots who frequent the restaurants on this list. This list is composed of local Montreal late night restaurants, not crappy fast food chains.
5. The Main[image_frame width=150 height=150 pattern=”dotted” align=”right”]https://connectedmtl.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/Montreals-best-late-night-restaurants-the-main-deli.jpg[/image_frame]
The Main has been in somewhat of a smoked meat war for years with the famous Schwartz’s. They are literally right across the street from the world renown smoked meat emporium and have been holding their own for quite some time. Is Schwartz’s better? Yes. Are they open late night? No. So if you’re looking for a deli fix at 3am and want to harass hipster chicks, this is the spot.

If you’ve been partying on the Crescent Street strip, then there is no other contender to a late night eating fiasco then going to the middle-eastern joint Boustan’s. It has become a veritable late night Crescent institution offering the best Shish Taouk (think chicken gyro but better) sandwiches in the city. This is a restaurant that Oren and I frequent even when we are not tanked. Big plates of shawarma or crispy chicken shish taouk sandwiches slathered in Garlic mayo and coleslaw.

We have talked numerous times about the importance of trying a poutine when coming to Montreal. There are countless places that serve up poutine all over the city. While this is the most popular spot, it is not our personal favourite. The poutine is no better than anywhere else. However, the combination of being open 24 hrs, having many variations of pountine, and lots of cute French girls can make it a late night winner.

Sometimes we need a healthy dose of MSG to soak up all the alcohol that has been consumed during a big night. If you are jonesing for a sit down late night Chinese restaurant that serves every and any Chinese dish imaginable, then Maison VIP is the place. While the only thing VIP about the place is the name, the food is pretty good and it’s cheap. Maison VIP is located in the heart of Chinatown, between the clubs on St. Laurent and the Old Port.
If you can’t find Maison VIP just head to Chinatown and pick any place, they all look the same.
If you get lucky like the guys bellow, shout out “Connected Montreal!” on the video for a free trip!
What to Order: General Tao Chicken Salt and Pepper Pork Anything but Chickens Feet1. Moe’s (Casse-Croute du Coin)[image_frame width=150 height=150 pattern=”dotted” align=”right”]https://connectedmtl.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/Montreals-best-late-night-restaurants-Moes-casse-coute-du-coin.jpg[/image_frame]
If you have ever wondered where the Montreal Anglophone community congregates at the end of a blackout night of drinking, all you have to do is take a step inside of Moe’s. They have limited tables and it’s first come first serve. We have been kicked out of this place countless times but have yet to be blacklisted. While the prices have gone up since opening, they have not re-invested the funds into the decor. This is THE greasy spoon in Montreal, where you’ll chow down on toasted hot-dogs, poutine, grand slam breakfast and the famous “Big Ed” Burger. You must be intoxicated to actually enjoy the food here. Stick with the basics and you will be golden. If you’re looking to pick up and it’s after 3am, just scream belligerently at girls who actually speak English.
