Connected Montréal — Guide

The Montreal
Bachelor Party Guide

Montreal is the best bachelor party city in North America. Not arguably — by most measurable criteria: nightlife hours, value per dollar, group housing inventory, restaurant quality, and the fact that the city actually wants large groups there. This guide covers everything you need to plan it right.

Why Montreal Beats Every Other Option

Legal drinking age is 18. Every member of your group gets in — no awkward moments at the door, no one staying behind at the Airbnb.

Last call is 3am. Bars go until sunrise. Most American cities wind down at 2am. Montreal's best clubs don't peak until 1:30am and run until 6am on weekends.

Private group housing at scale. Montreal has a deep inventory of legal, licensed houses and private residences that accommodate 10 to 30 guests. Everyone stays together. No separate hotel rooms, no splitting the group.

Restaurant quality is legitimate. Montreal has more restaurants per capita than New York City and a James Beard-calibre dining scene. Spots like Joe Beef, Liverpool House, and Marcus are internationally recognized. Group dinners here are an event.

Value. A VIP table at a Montreal club starts around $250 in bottles. The equivalent in Vegas starts at $1,000. Your budget goes roughly 3-4x further here.

The 4 Best Montreal Neighborhoods for a Bachelor Party

The Plateau

Where we base most groups. Dense residential streets, walkable to everything, excellent food options, and the largest inventory of licensed group residences. Unpretentious but not cheap.

Old Montreal

Cobblestone streets, excellent rooftop bars, and some of the best restaurants in the city. Great for dinner. The nightlife is more tourist-facing — we use it strategically, not exclusively.

Downtown / Crescent St

High-energy bar strip. More accessible, less curated. Good for a casual first night or a group that wants straightforward options without navigating the city.

Mile End

Quieter, creative neighbourhood with excellent daytime options — coffee, bagels, brunch. Not a nightlife destination but great for afternoon activities.

When to Go

May–September is peak season. Warm weather, outdoor terrasses, the Grand Prix weekend in June (the city's biggest weekend — book 6+ months out), Jazz Fest, and Osheaga all land in this window. Prices are higher and availability tighter, but the energy is unmatched.

October–April is when savvy groups come. Accommodation costs drop 20–30%, restaurants are easier to book, and the nightlife is the same. The city doesn't slow down in winter — it moves indoors. Some groups find the contrast (warm private house, cold streets, then club) actually adds to the experience.

Avoid Grand Prix weekend unless you're specifically booking for it and have 6 months of lead time. Accommodation triples. Clubs charge double.

Our trip couldn’t have gone better. Oren and the team are great. Everything went very smoothly and they were very communicative through the whole process. They nailed it with the restaurants and activities they recommended. I’d strongly recommend working with Oren to plan your trip.

I was trying to plan a bachelor party and having trouble bringing it all together and finding time to book reservations. I called Connected Montreal and Oren gave me a ton of options and had us set up with a full itinerary that fit our group right away. Definitely would use this service as the weekend was awesome and would not have compared if we tried to plan ourselves. Oren and Hurricane Tony took care of us all weekend and helped out with local stuff like what bars to hit, brunch spots, places to hang out during the day. Don’t waste your time trying to do it yourself these guys have it down

Common Questions

Do I need a passport to visit Montreal from the US?

Yes. A valid US passport (or passport card) is required to enter Canada. All members of your group need one. Allow 8–10 weeks if anyone needs to renew.

What's the best airport to fly into?

Montreal-Trudeau (YUL) is the main airport. Direct flights from most major US hubs — JFK, ORD, LAX, BOS, MIA. Flight time from New York is 1h15. We arrange private transfers from the airport to your residence.

How far in advance should I book?

For peak season (May–September), 8–12 weeks minimum. Off-season, 4–6 weeks is usually sufficient. The limiting factor is housing — the best group residences go first.

Do I need to speak French?

No. English is widely spoken throughout Montreal, especially in hospitality and nightlife. French signage is common but navigation is straightforward.
