WHERE NOT TO STAY FOR YOUR BACHELOR PARTY IN MONTREAL

By Connected Montréal · Mar 14, 2026 · 06 MIN read

Not every neighborhood in Montreal is suited for a bachelor party. After a decade of planning weekends, we know exactly which locations will tank your trip.

Quick Summary

  • Staying off-island (Laval, Brossard, Dorval) creates expensive Uber rides for 10+ people.
  • Many boutique hotels actively prohibit bachelor parties and will evict groups mid-stay.
  • Summer construction and festival road closures make central location even more critical.

Anywhere Off Island

There is no way to sugarcoat this. If you're staying off the island, you're making a massive mistake. It's right up there with not getting bottles at the club. Besides ruining your weekend logistics, staying off-island becomes insanely expensive with Uber rides back and forth for 10+ guys.

Good rule of thumb: if there's a bridge, you've gone too far. If your address does not say Montreal — if it says Laval, Brossard, St. Lambert, Dorval, or Pointe-Claire — get a refund immediately.

Old Montreal (For Staying)

Old Montreal is great if you're a couple in their 80s taking in the French architecture. You're not. You're a bachelor party. The district is extremely touristy during the day and family-friendly. Walk around before heading to a supper club, sure — but take the party elsewhere.

Boutique Hotels

We get groups every year that book a suite or block of rooms and end up getting kicked out. Many boutique hotels don't allow bachelor parties — they're great for a weekend getaway with your partner, but terrible for groups. We've vetted every property we work with to make sure they're group-friendly. See our housing portfolio for approved options.

Anywhere Outside The Downtown Core

Summer in Montreal brings festivals that close roads and construction detours everywhere. Being stuck in traffic when you could be walking to the next bar is a waste of your weekend. Unlike most major North American cities, being centrally located in Montreal is surprisingly affordable.
