WHERE TO STAY FOR A MONTREAL BACHELOR PARTY: NEIGHBORHOOD GUIDE
By Connected Montréal · Mar 15, 2026 · 07 MIN read
Montreal is not a big city — the joke is that everything is 10 minutes away. But location is the single most important factor in choosing the right base for your weekend.
Quick Summary
- The Plateau is home to Saint Laurent and Saint Denis, Montreal's two premier party streets.
- Griffintown offers proximity to Joe Beef, Liverpool House, and the city's top food scene.
- Old Montreal is ideal for daytime visits but less practical for nightlife-focused group stays.
Downtown
Located in the center of Montreal, Downtown has reasonably priced accommodations with everything within walking distance or a short Uber ride. In the summer, you're close to Place Des Arts where Jazz Fest and other festivals take place. A few blocks over is Rue Saint-Laurent, also known as "The Main," Montreal's premier party street.
Plateau
Just north of Downtown lies the Plateau-Mont-Royal — home to two of Montreal's best party streets, Saint Laurent and Saint Denis. Both are lined with bars, restaurants, and clubs. In June, the Plateau hosts Mural Fest, turning Saint Laurent into an open-air street party. We have several properties in the heart of the Plateau, purpose-built for group stays — from full mansion setups with backyards to sleek modern townhouses right on Saint Laurent.
Griffintown
Montreal's trendiest neighborhood. The former industrial area is now home to restaurants like Grinder, Liverpool House, and Joe Beef. A 5-minute Uber from Downtown, Griffintown is perfect for groups interested in Montreal's incredible food scene while still being close to nightlife. Our original property sits directly on Rue Notre Dame — 2,700 sq ft of renovated modern space with an outdoor patio, walking distance to all the gastronomic highlights.
Old Montreal
The cobblestone streets, the French architecture, the waterfront views — Old Montreal is stunning. It's great for daytime bar hopping and photo ops, but we generally recommend staying in the Plateau or Downtown over Old Montreal for nightlife access. Visit the Old Port for the afternoon, but keep your home base where the real action is.
